thanks for posting this; looking forward to this game. Did you play the alpha? how was it ?
thanks for posting this; looking forward to this game. Did you play the alpha? how was it ?
I did. It was rough around the edges (due to it being alpha) but it definitely showcased a lot of what I wanted to see if I was wanting a "Blood Money 2". The level is the same one in the video and it's phenomenal.
I hope it's due to alpha, but all the women in the lobby crowd have the same hair.
I hope it's due to alpha, but all the women in the lobby crowd have the same hair.
It's a commentary on fashion. [sp]It's a feature[/sp]
I'm liking the large crowds we saw, really made the place seem alive. Can any alpha players tell me how the crowds react to danger? In Blood Money the crowd NPCs just ran away in a straight line, so it didn't really give that sense of panic and confusion that happens with real-life crowds.

Same happens if you pull the fire alarm. At one point I just fired into a crowd with a rifle and nothing seemed out of place in the way they reacted.
I'm gonna put a comment here that i did in the previous E3 one just because i think its kinda relevant and its nice to see some of the elements i wanted being taken into consideration,
I want it to be more realistic, i want 47 to be a proper assassin in terms of he's willing to use any tool to do the job, including the environment and i hope the AI isn't as predictable and programmed to follow a route more so they dynamically react to events that happen within the level and do different things each time, and i want 47 to dynamically interact with the world? wanna kill someone in the most efficient but unpredictable way possible? sure you can! i want it to less feel like putting a certain item here or there leads to a certain route or method taking place resulting in a set pieced death for the target.
i'd still like to see more diversity in the weapons and environment though, like to the point of where ANYTHING can be a weapon if you need to use it, wanna grab a chair and smash someone with it just because its the only thing available for example.

Maybe it's just the style of presentation
yay international locales not fucking backpacking across the united states

Looks very promising. One of my favorite things about Hitman is how atmospheric the levels are. Looks like they nailed it again in this. I actually hope we can disable the mini map. Now that we have the actual map back, I personally think it's really distracting.
As much as i want to get stoked and hype about this, i've also learned the hard way, never to trust a trailer, no matter how cool shit looks. But i can't shake the feeling of this awful "Watch_Dog"-vibe when i watch this trailer ...
There's only so much a dev team can do to provide freedom. Kill animations would need to be created for EVERYTHING, for everything to be a weapon.
Simple way would not to have kill animations for everything, I'm sure you could have a system where you could grab items and have a general swinging/hitting animation depending on the size and weight of the thing you're using. [editline]29th August 2015[/editline] But this is obviously not the game for that, it still looks like a ton of fun tho
Or use a physics animation engine like Euphoria

It looks just as good, it's as lively as it is here, anything he does in the trailer is doable in the alpha.

That's a bit worrying really, seeing as the game is out in just over 3 months.
Well technically this is still alpha, so they say. That's a bit worrying really, seeing as the game is out in just over 3 months.
Honestly from what I played, it's near enough there assuming there's a decent amount of other levels on release. I say the game was rough around the edges and I really do mean the edges. There's some stuff they need to improve performance wise and also they need to brush up the HUD for things like the big screen-central "TRESPASSING" text like you see in the video. I never run into any bugs or crashes during my play.

That being said Blood Money had couple of "scripted" accidents, too. So far it seems like they are trying make BM2 with better graphics and seeing how big the level is I'm sure there will be a lot of room for unique assassinations.
Kinda disappointed that 47's pistols aren't called Silverballers anymore, but otherwise this looks really neat.
Kinda disappointed that 47's pistols aren't called Silverballers anymore, but otherwise this looks really neat.
The video showed a silenced 1911, the Silverballers are based on AMT Hardballers (commonly known as clones of the 1911, ironically). I don't see the silverballers ever leaving hitman anyway, they've become as much a part of 47's character as his suits. [editline]29th August 2015[/editline] source: I kinda like hitman
I always thought it was weird that 47 used AMT Hardballers and a W2000. Everything I've read about Hardballers says they're shitty knockoffs of 1911s. There's only a couple hundred W2000s so they'd be pretty easy to track (I imagine) and they're expensive as fuck. Though this is also the man who completes assassination contracts wearing a tailored Italian suit, he's probably just got a bit of a preference for the impractical.
I feel bad about Splinter Cell, the series that introduced me into stealth games. The new MGS and even Hitman look way more interesting than what Ubisoft can probably release.
There probably will never be another game as good as chaos theory.
Is 'hitman' really the title? I dislike it if only because it sounds rebootish, which is a thing hitman doesn't even need. I haven't played the alpha and the video didn't reveal enough to me to make a judgement on the gameplay, but I hope it's good. Hitman is one of my favorite series still, even after the last one which a lot of people seemed to dislike.
They fixed the disguise system, thank goodness That shit was so busted in Absolution.
It's a semi-reboot. They keep saying it's after Absolution but at the same time it's during 47's top form/golden era. From the rest of their interviews it sounds it will most likely be 47 doing contracts without any deeper story. But the name is just silly and will only cause confusion.

Is it even possible that anything could 'top' [sp]the White House?[/sp]
Well i see nothing wrong with this being called Hitman tbh, i mean the original is Called Hitman: Codename 47, so its not like the titles been used before.
Oh god thanks Facepunch, I'm going to think of Iago everytime they say that name.
