Looks alot better on PC, as expected of course.
Didn't Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen come out on PS3 & PC like 2-3 years ago?
EDIT:
Oh wait.
They're only just bringing it to PC 3 years after it released on console.
No shit it looks better on PC.
That dragon picture comparison was fucking dumb. Yeah let's try and compare the graphics when the PC version has god rays masking the entire scene.
my body is ready
im gonna buy the shit out of this
Aaaah I can't wait for this
Best thing about the PC version? No forced letterbox!
I want to see the FPS right outside Gran Soren.
The Everfall is probably going to look amazing too.
What worries me is I heard they said "It'll run fine on a higher end PC", or something to that regard. That frightens me because the game was released on the PS3, a modern toaster should be able to run it, if it ran on that hardware. Makes me think they're not going to work hard on optimization.
Though it's also MT Framework, which has proven pretty lightweight, so that's good.
I dunno how I feel about removing the letterbox. Rarely affected gameplay, so I learned to like it a lot. It had a nice charm. Hopefully there's an option for it.
Also I'd be tickled pink if they added modding tools.

It'd have a nice charm if it didn't take up a third of the screen.

It wasn't an artistic decision though (I would still call foul if it was), they always intended for the game to be full screen but had to add letterboxing because the game ran like shit. Even with the letterboxing the framerate was bad.
I want to know where the video came from for the PC gameplay. I thought it wasn't out until early next year.

Like mentioned before, unless they royally fuck it up, it will run super smooth at 1080p. Just like Dragons Dogma Online on PC.
The only thing that makes it resemble dark souls is that its incredibly hard and they multiply the "you shouldnt be here so here's a hard as fuck enemy" by a thousand and plop a fucking dragon down that has 8 health bars and will onehit you if you're not meant to go that way, but you can still spend an hour trying to kill it

Dont really understand the question because you could just youtube "dragons dogma" and see that its not really anything like dark souls if you really wanted to know but idk man
is this game really that good? been hearing lots of good stuff about it but it looks like a dark souls clone at first glance (i really didnt see much)
it's really great. it can look like dark souls at times but once you get in game it doesn't feel like it at all. dragon's dogma is much faster paced than dark souls. playing all the different vocations is super fun and every one of them feels incredible by the time you reach max rank on them. the pawn system is great and it's awesome being able to help your friends as they help you by using each other's pawns. the story, though simple, is done really well and the game has one of the best endgames i can remember

Seeing as how the combat is a lot more enjoyable in every single way, yes. It's one of the few games out there where if you meet a really big boss you can truly interact with it by fucking climbing up the bastard and stabbing it in the eyes. Climb up on a cyclops and stab it in the face, check. Grab onto a griffon as it takes off into the air, check. Grab onto a cow that you found and ride along as it heads straight for a wall, check.
Beyond being thirdperson games where you fight monsters, the games are nothing alike.

i personally enjoyed it more than dark souls but they don't really compare.
that said, no ARPG i've encountered has combat as satisfying as dragons dogma
and the post game content is so nuts, the main quest will look like a tutorial in retrospect
Dragon's Dogma is like if you took the traditional western RPG, and then added the pizzazz of professional hack-and-slash experience from Japanese devs into it. The result is less of a struggling survival of memorization against the denizens of a dreary world, and more of a swashbuckling adventure where you can promptly jump into a griffon's back and crawl over to stab it in the face repeatedly, fill an entire valley with a destructive tornado spell, or pull out your gigantic sword and take out a larger enemy in one well-placed swing.
In a sense, more Monster Hunter with a broader scope and more generalized JRPG gameplay, than Dark Souls.
