A good one.
This is one of his better ones for sure and i hope this starts a trend, because the guys who make the games deserve a good pay and good work / life balance. Is it true that Konami made there workers go through some kind of orwellin nightmare at there workplace correct ?
if you actually think overtime 7 days a week is a good idea in game development you're a tard

only a massive fuckwit would support it
this is one of his best in a while
God damn, I think this is the angriest I have ever seen Jim.
And rightly so. I pretty much completely agreed with every point he made.
If no one's read it here's the EA spouse story he briefly mentioned.
This is a really good video, you can seriously tell that Jim is passionate about this whole topic.
alex st. john is legitimately one of the worst people i've ever seen in game development. i'm so glad he isn't running a company anymore.
I prefer when Jimquisition is like this. It's always better for him to be the informational, if a bit biased (but almost never on the wrong side tbh.) speaker than the random stuff he did a few months back that never really have gotten anywhere.

It's a huge problem with triple A game development that needs to meet the deadline (typically Holidays) without any sort of delays.
I see this with Ubisoft and tons of other companies.
they clearly have some insanely passionate people who are very good at their jobs and love what they do, but they're clearly overworked and the PR/Publishing part of the company makes them, IMHO, the laughing stock of AAA devs to a lot of people.
If Ubisoft weren't crunching time, they would make the already successful titles they have excel. Watchdogs wouldn't have been the giant flunk it was either, it'd have been a really good title.
And then there's other companies, like a ton of them working under EA. So many of them just... rush shit out without any thought. EA seems to make them rush it out.
Studios working under EA just sort of, slowly turn to shit as time goes on. Some less than others.
