The Protomen released a cover album, they do the songs justice in my opinion, especially Total Eclipse of the Heart 0:00:00 – Pick Up 0:00:41 – Because the Night 0:05:46 – Princes of the Universe 0:09:16 – Mr. Roboto 0:14:59 – No Easy Way Out 0:18:52 – Last Stop 0:20:31 – In the Air Tonight 0:27:05 – I Drove All Night 0:32:45 – Total Eclipse of the Heart 0:39:44 – Hunted 0:41:32 – The Trooper 0:45:46 – I Still Believe (Great Design) 0:51:30 – Results 0:52:15 – Danger Zone 0:56:19 – Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)
make an actual new album god dammit this is like the second cover album they've done
this is cool but where tf is act 3
any protomen is good protomen imo This is also actually meant to relate to the story of Act 2 as well [sp] It's supposed to be the soundtrack of a movie that Joe saw that basically inspired him to break out of the society as he did in the album [/sp]
god I wanna see these guys again, they put on absolutely amazing live shows
wow they did great justice to the songs. They didn't rework them into something different but instead augmented the originals, keeping them intact but giving them a distinct dash of custom style.
this is cool but where tf is act 3
Their blog said after this album came out, nothing would stand in the way of Act 3, so I'd assume that's coming next

I know at the end the woman talks about how Dr. Light or Joe or Megaman disappeared and has been gone for 18 years but I didnt know that[/sp]

At the start of Act 2 Light and Wily have a falling out and light gets framed. Many years go by and Wily turns the city into some distopian big brother shit and some guy named Joe gets sick of it and "breaks out" and ends up finding Doc Light outside of the city. The 2 following songs are Joe going to destroy a radio tower but he ends up getting blown off the top of the building and dies.
So if you're into the story the Protomen have created, I got a secret to tell y'all straight from the band. [sp]The lastest album, while a cover album, is connected to the Protoverse. It's supposed to be the soundtrack from a movie Joe saw when he was kid, and what ultimately planted the seeds of rebellion in him. When he found his dad's motorbike in Act II, he also found this cassette, and it's what drove him off the edge to drive out of the city and light up the night.[/sp] I spoiler'd it because it seems to be the reveal of an arg type thing they're doing with the album. I'm not sure if it's an arg anyways, but it smells like one.
They surprised announced the album was available for sale early at magfest at the end of their first show. Me and a freind fucking sprinted to the merch booth after that. We were among the first few people to get it. I have been listening to this album all week almost non stop ever since I got the tape at Magfest.
Ah I see what you mean now. It must be talking about Light.
Damn straight Act 3 CANT be that far off now, especially with that OTHER new song they released from it (Not hold back the night, the other one)
Well I just realized that it's really likely that the girl talking to Light is Roll. Since she didn't know Emily, and also asks if Light is disappointed in her, seems like something a child/creation would ask their parent/creator.

It has been confirmed by the band that this album takes place sometime between The Father of Death and Breaking Out[/sp]
[sp]Nope. It has been confirmed by the band that this album takes place sometime between The Father of Death and Breaking Out[/sp]
[sp]Uh, yeah, it's supposed to be the soundtrack to a movie that Joe saw that inspired him to rebel. But because of some of the interludes I'm guessing that the actual timeframe of the interludes is after Light's escape. The girl talks about them finding them, and what Emily was like. I think the first one is Joe talking to his girlfriend or mother or something, whoever he's talking 'to' in Breaking Out, while the second one is Light and someone on the outskirts of the city, or wherever they are, and 'Results' is Wily in the city. I'm still listening. Of course, I could be completely incorrect and a retard, but I like to dream. I want to believe.[/sp]
they covered my favorite queen song aaaaaaa
they covered my favorite queen song aaaaaaa
and did they do it well?
I was listening to this on the way to work and when the trooper came on after that interlude I just about lost it
