Damn, Ubisoft dishing out the dough
How could he forget the best Far Cry ever? Far Cry Instincts
Not as in depth as I hoped it would be, but not bad. At least it's getting me hyped for Primal.
I was hoping he would do Blood Dragon.
what a damn sellouts
How could he forget the best Far Cry ever? Far Cry Instincts
Surely you mean the masterpiece that is blood dragon.
what a damn sellouts
A vast majority of their content is not sponsored, I don't think that makes them sell outs. Gives them money so they keep doing non-sponsored vids.
what a damn sellouts
I'd agree with you if this was a review channel, but it's not. It just gives information about the games. Literally nothing would be different if it wasn't sponsored. Actually, it'd probably have less stuff in it.
what a damn sellouts
Selling out: also known as "being paid for your work"
what a damn sellouts
So what? The content is still good. Ubisoft is getting more publicity and these guys are making more money. Everyone is a winner.
How could he forget the best Far Cry ever? Far Cry Instincts
Nah, everyone knows it's Far Cry Vengeance for the Wii.
i dunno, i feel that this one was specifically lacking any real interesting facts and really felt like ubisoft picked through the facts they chose. its like they gave them a packet of info they wanted them to talk about and they just went with that without doing other research. not saying that is what happened, mind you, it just feels like that
Actually would be neat if they cover the Far Cry spinoffs next time, would love to see some insider stuff for Blood Dragon, there was even an arcade version of Far Cry Instincts called Paradise Lost. Far Cry 2 is an under-rated game.
Far Cry 2 is an under-rated game.
It's really not. The only good thing with the game is The Jackal and nothing else.
Far Cry 2 is an under-rated game.
Far Cry 2 is weird for me. I dislike GTAIV for GTAV because I feel it's incredibly realistic to the point where it actually hurts the gameplay (cars drive like bricks, people/players stumble all the time, etc etc.) However Far Cry 2 is to Far Cry 3/4 as GTAIV is to GTAV, and yet I love it. I dunno, i feel like it works way better in the setting of Far Cry 2, where it's about survival, not doing crazy insane shit like FC3 or 4 are. all the elements of the gameplay help drive the story better, but sometimes it can get crazy. still, the idea of malaria or basically permadeath with the save points is a completely brutal experience that says "fuck you" to the player (and personally i usually hate games that do this,) and yet it's completely fair if you don't run and gun and take your time to know what might happen out of nowhere. That's not to say 2 is better than 3/4, vice versa, but rather they're all great at achieving what they try to do (at least 2 and 4 are cough cough.)
the main issue with 2 was that most of the gameplay was traveling from point A to point B with extremely little action between with a very boring setting. the newer ones are a lot prettier and have a ton more fun side activities.

the biggest shit was that the fire system in 2 was incredible, and im super glad they are bringing it back for primal.
Far Cry 2 is a mixed bag of a game. It has really grown on me though. From being a game that did a lot of stuff wrong just, it feels like it had created a really nice world. The feeling I got from playing through is honestly one that I consider replaying. It's best enjoyed with a difficulty mod and ENB prefix though, and the way I played the missions was always ignoring my buddy, just to stop it from being tedious. Despite that, the setting and the option of choosing your own loadout actually played out really well, and some of the choices you can actually make feel really nice. If you take it at a fairly slow place it can get hectic too, but that's a mod thing. Midgame and ending spoilers: [sp]True that the ending felt kind of silly to me, being that you're a mercenary so horrible at doing your job that you not only almost get killed by the guy you were supposed to kill, but also end up helping him. I did really like how the game supported my "No buddies needed" style of playing, the choice between helping your buddy or the church means I don't have to go and help someone who I don't care about at all, but instead can choose someone who at the least seems morally right.[/sp] This realism mod http://www.moddb.com/mods/dylans-far-cry-2-realism-mod and either of these color correction mods. http://www.moddb.com/mods/real-africa-the-ultimate-sweetfx-config http://www.moddb.com/mods/sproyds-sweetfx-graphical-enhancement-config Here's a list, some looks interesting. http://www.moddb.com/games/far-cry-2/mods [editline]16th February 2016[/editline] Oh wait it was definitely this color correction mod. http://www.moddb.com/mods/far-cry-2-graphical-enhancement-suite
Oh and I also got the realism mod wrong. I actually used this one. http://www.moddb.com/mods/realmode

On another note, what these mods sadly remove is scavenging the enemy's broken weapons, but I guess it's also somewhat a vanilla game issue, since you can get free perfectly fine weapons. [editline]16th February 2016[/editline] I forgot to check my merge twice now.
Far Cry is such a fantastic series. Absolutely loved the cutscenes with the bad guys in 3, it was so tense it gave me shivers. Like something out of a Tarantino movie. Possible inspiration for similar scenes in the latest Wolfenstein games?
i don't think i will ever forget far cry 2 it left somewhat of a mark on me that goes way beyond video gaming, all because of that fucking atmosphere i haven't played the game in about 8 years now and i still vividly remember specific bits and pieces from it, primarily the jackal's tapes, and their locations, and a lot of other shit that i just have burned into my conscious for no reason i forgot about far cry 1, 3 and 4 literally an hour after finishing them
I think it's really cool that Ubisoft sponsors these tbh. Far Cry Primal actually looks cool. I still need to play FC4 though lol
So what? The content is still good. Ubisoft is getting more publicity and these guys are making more money. Everyone is a winner.
Even we get more because these sponsored videos give more accurate info about the series and stuff that wouldn't be known unless specifically asked for. Everyone truly gets to win in this. Except EddyLTU.
Far Cry 2 was the only game I played where audio logs were actually important. The first time I played the game I ignored them because I figured they'd be pointless and add nothing to the game, by the end I wanted to kill The Jackal because I thought he was responsible for everything that happened. The second time I went out of my way to find and listen to every tape and by the end I really understood where he was coming from. His plan to have the two factions kill each other off while the people left the country to safety was insane, but by the point you can intervene all you can really do is make sure his plan is carried through to protect the civilians. I find it funny how I went from thinking he was an irredeemable villain to thinking he was pretty sympathetic but misguided. Also the fire tech in Far Cry 2 was amazing. If you fired a RPG in dry grass the grass behind you would be set on fire. If any of you every think about going back to it I would recommend you try to travel in routes that avoid the checkpoints, go through valleys, take the rivers, that kind of thing. It makes the game much more enjoyable when you focus on avoiding conflict as much as possible.
I hated almost all characters in FC3 and FC4, except for Vaas and Pagan. Every single other character was so stupid, annoying and unsympathic. Especially the girl characters in FC4.
