The last Tiger Tank (Tiger II to be specific) in working order being started up. What a beautiful sound!
Features a Maybach HL230 engine. 700 PS (690 hp, 515 kW) at 3,000 rpm. Maximum torque is 1850 Nm at 2,100 rpm. What a machine...

Now imagine stalling that thing on the battlefield.
Tank Commander: "Here's the crank, now who's going out there?"
That's not the last one, another Tiger is located at The Tank Museum, Bovington, Dorset.

He probably meant the last Tiger II.

Yep.
Maintained in performing condition with all of the same parts it had since it was manufactured. The other one was restored, as the video describes.
Still, it's nice to see two relics as they once were.
I wanna drive this thing around the mall on campus
It's still a bit odd to me that they use electric motors to turn the turret, but didn't think about a starter motor.

They had electric starters, but the batteries could become very weak in cold weather and the crank was used then.
Ah ok yeah that makes sense.
The engine out of one of these things...

I can kinda see how that engine is too small for such a hunk of steel.
