Too bad his gameplay videos and humor are shit, because he is actually a pretty great guy. I can't take his screaming, yelling and crappy jokes about rape.
Makes a really valid point.
Been said a million times in a million different ways before here, but even though I don't particularly find his content enjoyable (and I doubt I'm his target audience anyway), I don't hate him. Seems like a pretty chill dude. I won't lie and say I'm not jealous that he doesn't have to worry about paying bills that much anymore thanks to his gaming channel though.
I don't like his guys but he's a good video.
I doubt he'd ever change his gaming ego.
calling bullshit that he didn't know you could make money off screaming into a webcam
"Money doesn't buy happiness" Fuck that, 99% of my problems are from money. If I had money to fix those problems, that'd make me pretty fuckin happy. Tis always easy for rich people to be humble about cash
"If you think someone else is funnier, go refresh their videos over and over, because that's how we get paid. " Well he's being honest
Why is everyone so upset? Comedians just 'talk', clowns just 'juggle', magicians just do 'tricks'. He's just ENTERTAINING OTHERS, like a lot of other entertainers, he also gets paid. A lot. As long as his videos are fun and not focused on making money, then I don't think anyone should care how much he makes. I don't like the videos, but I don't see them as a bad thing, I'm just no fan of him. As much as I think playing video games as a living is the most retarded 'job' ever, I can't say he's doing anything wrong.

Him being able to support him and his girlfriend I believe is the happiness he feels. Which statistically is true. The benefit of any given volume of money goes down the more money that person has. he's not going to be 7x happier than someone making 1million a year.

That's just the way it is.
Isnt like 7M/year the same salary as for some useless celeb that doesnt do anything? Paris Hilton for example gets something like 10 million a year just because her name is used on some perfumes.
"It really doesn't matter what you think. Life is not fair." Some hardcore zingers right there.
The hell sort of person puts a filter on his videos?

Obviously if you, say, won the lottery yeah that would make you pretty fucking happy. But once you get over that you realise life is still pretty much the same even without money related problems.

I like pewdiepie, he has some really funny videos that many of fp's users have missed cause of the bandwagon that he jokes about rape and all that jazz. I find him really likeable.
I got a 15 year old nephew and he is a fan of Pewdiepie, with his friends on school they talk pretty much every day about him and his videos. They love the guy. To him his videos are his daily dose of entertainment, like watching your favorite TV show. That he earns money for it, good for him. Who is he bothering with it? All you do is see some ads (or in case of adblock, no ads at all) and for that he earns his cash.
Because he got millions doing something most of us perceive as easy and we didn't. That's just the way it is.
i think it is kind of funny we perceive it as easy. Don't get me wrong, it isn't rocket science, but it requires a level of dedication to put out x minutes of video every day with editing and such behind it. He probably spends at least a few hours a day doing it. He seems like a pretty chill guy, even if I don't watch or like his videos very much, and I actually agree with him here. People are crazy to care about how much he earns.
Nobody should earn that kind of money doing any job. People work just as hard doing manual labor every single day, that with the added stress of not being able to provide properly for their families, and will never see the kind of money this prat makes in one year.
did any changes really come of the "i'm sorry" debacle or is he still a mess under criticism?

He just got to the honey pot first, good for him. I don't enjoy his videos either, but I understand where the hate comes from too. Its like the video about money probably generated him the same amount of money my parents earn a month.

He likely makes more in half a year than I will see in my life, and I won't lie that I would love to do the same thing for a tenth the money, but he jumped on and did it, and I have bigger things to worry about in my life! I understand where the envy comes from, but ultimately there are so many things that people could worry about that to worry about one person isn't worth it.

I mean, YouTube makes even more money off his channel than he does. There will always people who will earn a ridiculous amount of money, but just like he says, life is not fair, it's just the way it is. Also, have you guys seen the video where he shows how he edits his videos? He puts a lot of fucking time in that, more than he spends gaming and recording.
I think wealth distribution is becoming a major topic now and a lot of people are unhappy about it. For an entertainer to be earning 1000x more than a teacher or nurse, really says a lot about the effect capitalism and greed is having on society. I don't think it's necessarily PewDiePie's fault, but it is certainly the fault of those giving him that much money to begin with, and exploiting his viewers to maximize their own profits.
but just like he says, life is not fair, it's just the way it is.
Nope. It's the way it is now, but it doesn't have to be this way, and it won't always be this way. There was once a time people would have said the same thing about the Monarchy in England, or about slavery, but things change. Given enough time I'm certain people will stand up to this kind of capitalism, and we'll move toward a fairer economic ideology.
