I remember when this kind of graphics was absolutely stunning.
I actually never finished the game.
I spent most of my time turning on the cheats for;
- Turning all street lights to green
- Giving everyone weapons
- Making everyone kill each other
- Make everyone a crazy driver
- Making it constantly foggy
I just did it to cause as much chaos as possible, tried to make a war zone.
I kinda regret it now ... it was an awesome game I wish I had finished it. I still have it, but I'm too pre-occupied with current games.

I remember that if you saved with the crazy pedestrian cheat on, there was no way to turn it off again. Did that so many times lol. If friends played and saved with it. Man... Ruined the whole save lol.
I had a lot of fun with this. As all GTA games. Can't wait for more news on GTA V. Better be epic.

Oh god, I remember screwing around on the second to last level, turned on the riot cheat, and saved. The last level became impossible to beat because the girl you're trying to save always gets shot in the face by her guards during the cutscene.

They're not making a remake, it's just a port.
But on the topic: Man, 10 years. I remember only being shown the light of the GTA franchise as a whole, 3 years ago when GTA IV was released. I thought it was honestly the greatest game of all-time after I got into it.
I remember a long time ago, when I was a kid, my excuse for not liking GTA and not wanting to get into it, was because "it involved killing people". Obviously I was just looking at comments and absorbing them into me as my own. And it's funny because at the same time, regardless, I'd always go to my cousin's house and play San Andreas co-op.
From not liking the franchise for a bad reason, to being all over it and anticipating->enjoying each and every title Rockstar releases. Man, 10 years.
This makes me incredibly nostalgic
My old friend coming over from across town to spend the night almost every weekend, me and him playing this game while we make jokes and wise cracks, pulling all nighters just so we can try all the cheats and seeing the crazy shit we could pull off...
