John Wilkes Booth? Who killed the Republican president Abraham Lincoln? I don't like the implications.
John Wilkes Booth? Who killed the Republican president Abraham Lincoln? I don't like the implications.
This is just humour, he even follows with "I'd like to clarify I'm not an actor" :v:. But of course mobs of people are going to jump on this like flies on shit.
People should condemn this and not cheer, even if they don't like Trump. There are other ways to tackle this than openly talking about assassination. The thing is, even if he isn't being serious, it's dangerous to say something like that as a well known celebrity/actor and might encourage people to do something stupid

(Doesn't include his "Second Amendment people" threat against Clinton and the Supreme Court that earned him a visit from the Secret Service.) Depp's not being serious. People need to get over it.

But my point still stands, Trump saying those things doesn't excuse Johnny Depp saying something like that. And that he's not being serious isn't the point. The point is that he's a celebrity and has a lot of influence. Him saying something like that could have consequences, even if the chances are pretty small, it is a chance that shouldn't be taken imo. That he wasn't being serious doesn't really matter, the way people percieve it matters.

I don't know to condemn him for saying a bad thing or get petty revenge because the president did it too and people defended that. Help, the president is an asshole that broke my sense of what's proper.
what the hell happened with this guy? can anyone provide a quick summary?
what the hell happened with this guy? can anyone provide a quick summary?
A very bad divorce and he is currently in about 2-3 lawsuits i thought, one was about abuse and the other about his manager. Little funfact, some have noticed that Depp appeared quite off in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie and this had its reasons, he was just getting out of that bad divorce and he was seriously depressed, he would come up on sets hours later, delaying entire productions and would drink quite the booze after the shot (tho not confirmed), things became so out of hand that they send a production member over to the place where Depp slept so they could watch his windows and if he would turn on the lights they would signal production that they could start setting things up. Oh and that he was broke for quite some time, he refused to sell his private jet tho. After Pirates and several new contracts i think he got some pocket money again
Did he ever get over Hunter S. Thompson's death?
I never defended Trump, in fact, I don't like Trump and I despise that he says such things. Nobody has any control over other people's thoughts. Nobody's responsible for other people's actions either-- unless somebody explicitly tells them to go do something, and they go do it. Depp never told anybody to go do anything, never incited anything, etc. He made a shock comment and then laughed it off because he wasn't being serious and didn't actually mean anything by it. That's it. Having said that, the point is that if Trump's allowed to get away with saying all the things that he's said (and be serious about them too), Depp deserves the same amount of leeway that Trump's been allowed-- moreso than Trump because Depp's comments weren't even him being serious. For that matter, everybody deserves to be given the same amount of leeway that Trump has. There's no justification for favoritism. My advice would be don't speak of violence against others unless you're ready and willing to accept others speaking of violence against you.

It's really hard to find this risque when we know who the President is and the shit Depp went though, though I don't recommend assassinating Trump.

I mean fair enough Jonno boy but it's a little shit to just go ahead and say something like that and then act nothing of the sort when it's crunch time. Like if I joke about how after a few days at uni I'm ready to kill myself and don't at least stare longingly at a length of rope for a few seconds when I get home then what's the fucking point eh?
His ex is dating Elon Musk
That woman ruined Johnny Depp, and she will ruin Elon Musk. Which will lead to the end of SpaceX with its affordable spacetrips, end to innovative and leading edge technology of Tesla and end to the rise of mole people. The end of progress. This woman will ruin everything for mankind
Johnny Debt is one of my favourite actors, it's a shame how a select few decent actors have skeletons in their closets :(
