am I the only one who just wants to play as a shitty guardsman?

They're adding all the major races slowly over time, starting with Necron and ending with Tau I think. Guardsman is second or third.
Looks like they've re-used a lot of assets from space marine, namely some of the gui and the space marine models.

Looks like it's a pre-alpha.

IIRC they're adding the Sisters of Battle before Necrons. ATM you have
Spess Marines
Chaos
Orks
Eldar
Tyranids (NPC ONLY)
So they're adding in order(?)
Sisters of Battle
Necrons
Imperial Guard
Dark Eldar(?)
Tau.
i don't know how ig would work unless they make a squad of like 3-5 guardsman being controlled all as 1 unit.

What do you mean? Individual players count as IG and would have a swarm factor similar to that of Orks. They'd probably make IG the heroic F2P race.

Nids as NPC only? Fuck that. I'm boycotting.
Holy shit what is with that crouch animation? It looks like when he crouches his space marine is compressing his bones into each other
I'm glad we're getting more 40k stuff though. I'm especially excited for the new space hulk
Think IG would've worked better for the F2P counterpart to Orks.
Looks like they've re-used a lot of assets from space marine, namely some of the gui and the space marine models.
early versions like this I'd expect them to either take content from their old games or come up with really ugly "programmer graphics". Just to serve as a placeholder for now.
Has kind of a Star Wars Battlefront vibe
Don't like the crouching animation and the marines move too fluid. I know Power Armour is supposed to be flexible around the marine but its not clunky enough for my liking, I hope they change that.

As far as I know you can buy the game for liek 40$-60$ and unlock all the races and get buyer benefits. One time buy only so basically it's worth it.

TBH the only gripe I had about space marine was that armor felt too heavy. Like, with all the strength shit, space marines will move just as fluidly, if not more fluidly, than normal guardsman.
Terminator armor should be real heavy.
Ahaha,
It would of been nice to play s the Tyranids but that would be OP

Tyranids aren't really sentient tho. Like, they're a hivemind. It'd work better as npc faction.

The way the devs have talked about it before makes it sound like the 'Nids are going to be the equalizer of sorts. Since there is an even number of factions, there could be stagnation in the fight. That's why the 'Nids are there though, to fight the strongest factions and make them ease up on the other ones in order to defend their territory from them.
In theory.

Thats a brilliant idea... and when a faction becomes TOO too dominant, how about they send in the Necrons!

Not surprised honestly there are only so many ways you can make a space marine.
Looks like it's a pre-alpha.
i know I just thought it was kind of interesting, I wasn't taking a jab at the game or anything...
It's basically a mix of Planetside 2 and Space Marine.
FUCKING SOLD.
When it get's Imperial Guard its instant buy for me, space marines are cool and all but so many games have already done it from their point of view.

Plus, Imperial Gaurd are the ones with the balls of ultimate unbreakable steel.
I want to join Tau the most but it's the last on their list. My desire to be in a XV104 Riptide Battlesuit is too great.
The game is looking good in its state. I'll be excited to see it even a year from now and all the progress made.

Why does everyone act like getting conscripted or press ganged into a two week training regime, given some body armour and fatigues that don't fit and a rifle and being sent into a Troop shuttle to get shot out of the air/cleaved in half as you piss yourself/shelled by your allies artillery/executed for trying to save your own skin and run makes you a badass?
