Christmas was done a bit different back in 68'

This is my latest attempt at trying to polish up movements as well as working on SSAO and DOF. Any comments or criticisms are welcome!
The cybernetic ghost of christmas past from the future looks strikingly close to Robosoldier.
I figure that would be the most suitable stand in.
Definitely captured the ATHF feel, especially with how you framed each shot. Does SFM let you mess with ambient lighting? Lighting felt a little harsh at times with stark contrast between fully black areas and then some that were overexposed. Turning up the ambient lighting (and giving it a little blue tint as well) would make things look better imo.

There also doesn't seem to be any shadows?

This was my first time trying to completely set up the lighting myself. Because of the way SFM renders stuff is hard to jump back and forth between the work camera and properly rendered image, at least by the way I have it set up as I'm not running multiple monitors. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the SSAO right, which plays a large part in shadows on the characters.
For this video because I did the lighting myself I basically killed the SSAO because any amount showed up as grainy black shit on the characters. Hopefully I'll figure out how to properly balance lighting and SSAO
The animation style fits perfectly for the show. Nice job!
Nice work man. Couple of tips for making your video look a bit better.
You should lower the intensity of he lights a bit, loses some of the detail when the objects are blindingly white and such. Also, right click the viewport and go to render settings, set the motion blur and the other thing (cant remember the name) to 32. It's a good soft spot for making the video look good and not take forever to render.
Also, if you render in avi, it messes with the contrast a bit. I recommend exporting it as an image sequence. That way you can import it to a video editing software as an image sequence and render it how you want from there.

Thanks for the input! I've been rendering in mp4 just because of ease of use. Ive tried doing it via image sequince but fire whatever reason I always came across audio sync issues or frame rate issues (id set it render at the same frame rate it was produced and it would go too slow/fast). Most of that more than likely came from my inexperience with the program.
Great job! I like the somewhat smooth animations and simple animations.
Also for those who haven't seen the original:

"I hope that this is a new mommy!" "Yeah, it's not."
That's always been my favorite line from ATHF. Nice video.
Thanks! Each one I do I learn, so let me know so I know what I fucked up so I can do better.
Pretty dope and I'm glad you're sticking with ATHF! Keep going, you'll be one of the greats soon enough.

Niiiiice. Simple and stuck very close frame by frame to the original.
I always love it when people do ATHF Source Filmmaker videos. I did one awhile back myself.

Maybe down the road. I think for my next project I'm going to do something original, to which I've already laid the ground work for.
