Huh. These videos have gotten noticeably stale the pasty couple years, le epic dank memes that people make about Gabe and Steam aren't really deserving any more, seeing as how shitty they have been this year
I think of it more as a holiday. People make videos to celebrate the annual Steam Sales. You gotta pay homage somehow.
