Looks neat, also really digging the weather change.
Man, imagine this combined with Age of Empires.
Apparently people are exited for this because of it's comfy value. Like, the kind of comfy where it's snowing and dark outside, in the middle of the night, and you're sitting in front of your PC while sitting inside a wooden cabin in front of the fireplace in skyrim.
Something like that anyway.
Looking really nice. Will be sure to keep an eye on this.
Reminds me a lot of the Anno series, which is not a bad thing at all, gotta keep on eye on this.
Finally a game where you don't murder people and it's more economic oriented.
It's like Stronghold freebuild mode... But better.
It's all wanted.
I am ready for this game.
I like this very much.
Just added it to my Steam Wishlist.
It reminds me of Rise of Nations, without the combat and such. Just building huge peaceful old style towns.
Looks great too.
I think it'd be great to have a game like this - in first person
first person gathering, first person combat, first person building and commands to build X at X. You start as a nobody in a tiny town, eventually gaining the ability to lead your village and can eventually can become king of a huge kingdom, but, there are other kingdoms. And from a very first person perspective, you can war it out.
The only way to continue after dying is having sons and daughters to take over after you. Stats will be different with every king depending on what they do.
though of course war should be always optional as you can simply trade, or concur.
Reminds me of Dwarf Fortress in a way. It's not really a game you play for story or challenge, (Although DF has an abundance of that) it's just a nice game you can play for hours.

It looks to be quite intricate and pretty, hopefully it'll be fun too. Needs more digging and megaconstructions capabilities, though.
Thread title made me think that the game was so controversial that it got rejected from like, every site ever or something.

Rise of Nations was absolutely incredible. I would go so far as to say that it may have even been the pinnacle of classic RTS gaming.
Over the last few months I’ve gotten a lot of questions as to how the game is going to be distributed – and today I’ll make that announcement. Banished is going to be available for purchase on Steam and also available for purchase directly from Shining Rock Software.
Woo!

Yep, it feels very rustic and organic. I love that about it.
I was sure I had seen this trailer a long time ago, turns out it was the Alpha trailer 7 months ago, just that he recorded it very similarly.

Glad to see the game is still being worked on.
I really hope this gets released soon, I can't wait any longer.
Are there any more games like this?
This game reminds me a bit of Caesar 3 but more folksy.

I was definitely feeling the Rise of Nations vibe. Now I want to find that.

I hope they allow you to try and build on a dodgy island like stronghold did, I always loved trying to keep a town going with hardly any resources.
According to their dev log, they finished adding new content. At the moment, they are fixing bugs, testing features, and smoothing out gameplay.
WHERE'S THE MURDER

looks visually amazing but I'd have to wait and see how well it really is game play wise VS similar games.
Of all the games that this remind me of, like dwarf fortress and such, this is the prettiest looking
now i'll be able to see how horrible i am at making decent looking settlements, in HD
i can't wait
I'm going to make a whole city, only to accidentally burn it down and have the survivors die in the cold, icy woods. I CANT WAIT.
Looks like a nice game to just chill out with.
