Godzilla smashes some shit and fights Super X and King Ghidorah. Apparently the gameplay consists of "smash shit until something happens, make the shit stop happening, repeat until 'area clear' sign". The game looks pretty cool, but it could use a little more work (more work than the current release date may allow, that is). And an overseas release.
Atleast do it in a city. Looks unbelievably boring.
Is this 2002? Can they not make the buildings look like they're actually being damaged instead of just flashing and then exploding?
Is this 2002? Can they not make the buildings look like they're actually being damaged instead of just flashing and then exploding?
It's a tiny company basically being funded by Bandai and its partner SH MonsterArts. It's really an advertisement for action figures. (Still gonna try to buy an import)
Some animations look clunky, movement slides around a bit, lighting is incredibly flat and bland.
Some animations look clunky
They're using 3D scans of the action figures, so I bet rigging is difficult
They're using 3D scans of the action figures, so I bet rigging is difficult
Rigging is a bit difficult by default, but the model is relatively simple enough. You might get some complications in the armpit / shoulder rigging (If they used it, I'd have to look again), but the spikes should be relatively easy to do, just add them to the body / spine bones and you're good.
They're pushing this mainly because they just released the LegendGoji alongside wanting to re-advertise the MogeGoji figurines, and I guess the Kiryu figure is a top seller. Again, it's a playable ad that I'll probably buy because I'm a sucker for Godzilla. And hey, maybe this will inspire another 'Destroy All Monsters' or 'Save The Earth'.
This looks like it accomplishes less than War of the Monsters did over a decade ago, all whilst being clunky and slow.
