Eh, seems more like a legitimate edit to fit the time-slot then something manipulative.

The edit completely skews the meaning of the boy's words. His statement was the exact opposite of what they edited it in to.
Naughty naughty
They corrected the interview I don't understand
thats racist 2
Sounds fine to me.
Reporter: "When you get older, are you gonna stay away from all these guns?"
Kid: "No!"
Reminds me when a local newspaper interviewed my sister about her views on homosexuality she said:
"Gay or not, it's beyond our ability to change it. Gay people are gay, we should deal with it"
They published it as:
"Gay people are gay because God made them that way"
what
That's fucked up.

But if they were so strapped for time, why even show the "will you stay away from all these guns?" bit. It was my impression, and probably others as well, that the boy wants to become a gangster when he grows up. Not a police officer. Besides, that's such a cute kid.
I learned from journalism class, being on the newspaper, and just my awesome adviser that you should always be EXTREMELY careful how you present things. She wouldn't even let a girl flip a photo to fix her spread because it would be untruthful. This is a professional company, too. Whether it was intended or not, it certainly happened. Mr. Ben Jealous was exactly correct when he said, "it's important to tell the whole truth." Of course that's not the entire quote, but I couldn't understand what he said afterwards.
Did they correct themselves?
Yay American news.
I much prefer ours... Most of it is happy fluff stories or how the retail industry is ripping everyone off.
All the cops are white in the previous clip, what an extraordinary coincidence.
