Funnily enough, Vice was actually basically a scam(unsure if that's changed) for advertisers. Someone started to dig during the whole GG Fiasco and began to find financial statements and more that completely contradicted what they were telling investors; their clicks were far lower than their reports to advertisers and more.

vice is like the absolute worst and the best of journalism rolled into one. some of their shit is genuinely interesting but it seems as the bigger they get the more vapid and dumb their writing gets.
Their Syria and Ukraine stuff was top notch but other areas are ass blast garbage

FriendlyJordies has pointed out that often, these places will not talk about bigger issues such as worker exploitation and instead focus on whatever is trending on twitter or some big dramatic arguement going on over something far less important.

Shame because I work literally blocks from Vice's offices - I work in ice cream so I've actually scooped for them before inside their building. Vice has some genuinely nice and talented people employed.

ViceLand is a quality TV channel to me personally because I love skateboarding and weed and they show interesting documentaries.
Spike Jonze will forever be an inspiration to me for starting with Jackass and becoming an award winning director and writer.
I'd say they're equal parts great content and bad/filler/easy digestion content.

Honestly, this is just a part of the internet now I guess.
You merely say what you want and your opinions will be validated. And the more you search for it, the more websites will point you towards more of that. It doesn't matter how obscure, factual, psychotic, or racist you are, you can find someone that "confirms" everything you say, and you can find something that "confirms" the exact opposite and tells a radically different story. Echo-chambers are formed from this, and create their own confirmation bias within themselves, which stagnates what... well, reality itself is.
Keep in mind that Vice is a media conglomerate with a bunch of different departments and properties.
You all probably know Vice for ViceNews, which does all the photojournalism and HBO stuff.
[I]Vice[/I] is a magazine and has its roots in that, so they're more focused on stuff like mainstream culture. It's a shit article regardless but I usually put [I]Vice [/I]to lower standards than the journalism division.

It has nothing to do with their people - it has to do with their journalistic practices. Keep up those scoops man, they aren't bad people.
I don't like vice but they write on stuff I don't otherwise see so it's usually good when it comes onto fp.
