It´s better than nothing!
did the original xbox ever get a emulator at all? I remember trying to find one a few years back, but the only thing I could find was an emulator that only worked for Halo CE
So, we now have both 360 and PS3 emulators in the works 3DS when

Cxbx is a project thats basically trying to take the code for the xbox and translate it to native code for windows libraries, similar to how WINE works for linux. I believe they had the futurama game running on it, as well as turok.
Sweet. In a couple of years i can finally play those Burger King games without having to import a console or the games.
So that's all three 7th gen consoles with emulators. I remember PCSX2 struggling on my PC trying to play Mortal Kombat Armageddon. A few years from now and we will finally be able to play Halo 3 PC.
Technically that means that we are about to have Grand Theft Auto 5 on Pc With or Without Rockstar
Technically that means that we are about to have Grand Theft Auto 5 on Pc With or Without Rockstar
Well, studios could make money by porting their games to the PC. Or they could be lazy and not give a fuck about another source of revenue.
Well, studios could make money by porting their games to the PC. Or they could be lazy and not give a fuck about another source of revenue.
You'd still have to buy the game on 360 to run it.
Well, studios could make money by porting their games to the PC. Or they could be lazy and not give a fuck about another source of revenue.
It's a risk. It requires a lot of resources to pay coders to port it to the PC and solve possibly hundreds of glitches, not to mention optimize it for the vast amount of hardware combinations and alter (possibly) entire control schemes and design mechanics to work with keyboard and mouse. It's not that hard, but it definitely takes time and resources that not all companies want to pay for. That's not including the piracy that a lot of publishers take into consideration.
And we will be able to run something like halo decently in 5 years from now on. Great news...
So, we now have both 360 and PS3 emulators in the works 3DS when
Isn't the 3DS impossible to hack? That would make an emulator unlikely.
Isn't the 3DS impossible to hack? That would make an emulator unlikely.
I have a feeling like there's no console that's "impossible to hack". It might just take very long or not be feasible to do, but impossible to hack seems like a stretch.
Isn't the 3DS impossible to hack? That would make an emulator unlikely.
On the contrary, we already have working flashcards that can load ROMs and even make the system pretend it's the latest firmware so you can still play online and use the eShop. Granted they're still pretty primitive and quite expensive, but the 3DS has certainly been hacked and the ROMs are out there. They're just only for flashcard users on real hardware, since there's no emulator yet. If you've updated your 3DS past firmware 4.5 (or have a 2DS), though, don't get any ideas; Nintendo patched it up and only people with old firmware can still use flashcards. It'll be at least another year before doing that stuff on 3DS will be easy and probably way longer before we have a 3DS emulator.
So, we now have both 360 and PS3 emulators in the works 3DS when
This, and you mean 2DS since it should be easier.
did the original xbox ever get a emulator at all? I remember trying to find one a few years back, but the only thing I could find was an emulator that only worked for Halo CE
The original Xbox has never had proper emulators because the PS2 already had pretty much all of its game library anyway. But there's an emulator in the works but it ain't going anywhere anytime soon.

PS3 and Xbox games are pirated and played and it isn't that hard to flash or hack your console to play a downloaded game. Saying they won't bring it to PC because of Piracy isn't a accurate excuse in my eyes.
will Current gen consoles be easier to hack? they are much closer to traditional computers, or am i just being naive
Now I really just wanna play Halo 3 on pc.
Doesn't the 360 emulate original Xbox? So I could technically use this to emulate original Xbox games
will Current gen consoles be easier to hack? they are much closer to traditional computers, or am i just being naive
It took the Xbox 360 5-6 months after its release to get hacked (was hacked before but first public modified firmware was released 5-6 after release) Ps3 got hacked about 3 years after release. I don't think it's going to be any easier since they invested alot of time into the hypervisor. and since games are not on blu ray, burning the wont be much cheaper either. so what people are really waiting for is an exploit that will allow a regular user to get hypervisor access level from the processor.
Imagine built in model ripping. But seriously, would 3DX Ripper work with this sort of stuff?
Halo 3 on PC will finally happen. With or without Microsoft.
yes YES kind of?
I can't wait for the far future when I can get to play InFamous 2 on my PC at 60fps.
How many frames per year?
This is awesome! I wonder how long it will take to make the emulator faster.
when it can play dead rising, i will be the happiest
Finally we can play Kinect party on our PCs!
