Indians eat guinea pigs, Chinese eat dogs, Americans eat themselves to death.
As I said before, I see no reason to kill and eat an animal that has been bred and evolved to aid humans and be a companion. Dogs are specifically useful and I find it a terrible waste to dispose of them in this way.

Stop copying shit from the comments section
and pigs have human-like critical thinking skills and genetically most resemble humans
but its ok to kill them because usually they aren't cute
I didn't say anything about thinking skills and genetics, just how useful they are as companions and helpers in terms of hunting, comforting, and security
If there are too many dogs, why not just eat the extra dogs? Strays can be dangerous.
What most people don't know is this only really happens in inland China and the northern areas. Nobody in the modern/metro cities does this in public or really at all.

seeing no "Reason" to do something is a bit hard to defend. For them they obviously have reason enough to do this; whether they enjoy the taste, can only afford it, or it's just easier to get, etc.
Does something's usefulness really decide whether or not you kill it? I'd consider being food pretty useful either way you look at it.

Yeah, that really matters when pigs are pretty much loud, smelly, fatasses.

But the reason Asian countries consume dogs is because these animals were not specifically useful to humans as aids and companions in those regions. Because of a lack of hunting game and livestock to herd, Asian countries began eating dogs as their form of livestock, as they were far more useful as food than they were as companions. (no cattle)
The idea that dogs were bred to be "man's best friend" is a purely Euro-centric one; South-American countries also consumed dogs due to a lack of large hunting game and because of a lack of large livestock as well (no cattle)
Europeans could use dogs to hunt and protect their livestock, and so economically, they were more useful alive than dead in those areas. Pigs and cattle were domesticated and raised to be used by humans the same as dogs were, just in a different way. Only reason not to eat dogs is because they're "cute" and because, at least in the west, it's far cheaper and economical to eat a cow, pig, or sheep. This wasn't the case in Asian countries in the past, and although breaking their isolation in the modern era brought said animals to those countries, it didn't break the tradition of eating an animal that had been a dietary staple for thousands of years, especially in rural regions.

fucking rekt
If people ate dogs that were specifically breed as livestock, I would not have a problem.
Fucking animals. There's no justification in eating people's pets.

I'd have a problem because they're a terrible livestock, horribly inefficient to bring up, not that nutritious. Keeping bees would probably be more efficient.
Don't think I'd ever want to try dog. Asian will eat anything thats not tied down however
