Alone in the wilderness for 30 years: Man films himself living alone in Alaska.

I know who to go to if an apocalypse of some sort occurs (If he's still alive, this video looks old)
Also, this video is way more interesting than it sounds.

Shit, 30 years in Alaska? I'd rather be on a deserted Island.
Massive amount of masturbating during winter I bet.
I find his voice calming.
At 7:05. How does one pan a camera when alone?

Much more braver than me.
Hardcore craftsmanship right there.
Holy shit that cabin must've taken ages to build.
He died in 2003, sadly.
His cabin is still standing, though.

Just before his cabin burns down.
I've seen a documentary with a guy doing the same but for 6 months. He went a little crazy because of the loneliness. This guy must have been mentally unbreakable or he wasn't fond of other people, afterall he fought in WW1.
Damn that guy has missed a lot of world issues and news. It's crazy when you think of it.

At one time during his filming, somebody who has gone unnamed helped him film some scenes. He probably just stumbled upon him and decided to help for awhile.

Maybe the boat rocking slid it?

He didn't fight in WW1, his father did. he served as a Carpenter in the second World War.
Les Stroud and Bear Grylls don't have shit on this guy.

You can see that the image on that boatride is newer. They filmed it for the documentary.
This dude is really badass. My mom has a couple of books about him and a collection of his journals.
Dammit he's my hero <3
American Hero.
I bet this guy went crazy when he first saw a cellphone

surprised he didn't encounter any creepers :downs:
He'd be 93 if he were still alive.
I might actually pick up this book, looks very interesting, and I would love to see what he says.
And he died in 2003 according to wikipedia.
Got the age bit from the video, saying he was 51 in 1968. Then the advert at the end gave me his name.

Alaska seems kinda nice imo. But you're gonna need a gun.

The entire thing is on youtube starting at part 1 here:

Reminds me of David Therou.
Very very late, good though.
But he's dead, he got eaten by a bear.
He did have human contact by the way, but only for things such as family meetings (Just barely outside his location), and when his friend got him supplies.

No, He died from a stroke.
You're thinking of Timothy Treadwell.
