It feels better than Zack Snyder's scenes for me at least and the fact they amped up the colour was a neat touch. Just hoping they don't do this a bunch of times and make it just one scene on its own.
Well it makes sense because the drug is called Slo Mo.
they had to justify tons of slow motion with a drug.
feels really amateurish

Hardly tons when it's just one scene. If the movie uses it all the time then yeah fair enough.
Meh, Still think this one is better. Was just rediculous, violent and fun above all things. That just felt like "badass slow-motion cgi that i have seen so much of before"
Skip to around the 7.40 mark

Unless the new movie has the line "Double.. Whammy" then I'm not sold.
Although it has to be said, i really like the colour of the new film and the style, i guess it might be worth a watch. Still worried its going down the what the new total recall seems to be.
That was graphic...
I LOVE IT.

I too will feel massively disappointed if there isn't double whammy, though overall I'm on the "it could have been much worse" end of things.
I AM... THE LAW!
This'll be a decent movie but it's not gonna match the cheesy greatness of the original
I hope they only use that slow-mo in special scenes and not like in every shooting scene. Because then it would just feel like a gimmick.
Seriously i hope they make a solid story behind it and not just effect shooting fest 3D. Nowdays movie makers tend to use 3D and effects to justify shitty movies with crappy story.

Apparently it's a pretty effective character study of Dredd. The story is pretty fucking simple (drug bust #4254565624134)though I doubt it can be as simple with 0 development like The Raid had.

new drug on the street, dredd is out to get rid of it.
This was fucking badass.
I can't be the only one here that thinks that it dosen't do the original designs of the Judges any justice at all.
It's another new millennium sequel so of course its not.
I would have expected the drug abusers to actually put up a fight, seeing as they were experiencing the world in slow motion. It would have been a hell of a lot cooler if they just got up immediately and had lightning reflexes.
The spurting blood looks completely out of place, with how bright it is and how rendered it looks.
You can tell the point of this scene was to hamfist some more 3D scenes into the movie.(00.45)
