Thank god, it looks like they aren't deviating that strongly from the first games story then.
My absolute favourite childhood game is back.
The plumber better show up I swear to christ.
God I love how the cinematics look
Damn, I wish I had a PS4. Still looking forward to the movie though.

I remember feeling like Crack in Time had some Dreamworks tier cinematics.
Looks gorgeous.
I don't have a PS4, but this, this is really making me want one.
The Ratchet and Clank series is up there with the greats in my opinion, and this looks fantastic.
This game has a special nostalgic feeling due to being a redo of the first game, but at the same time its a lot different. I am probably going to have to buy it and play it over my brother's house, I don't wanna miss out.

I'll never forget that final battle [sp]Drek throwing everything at you while you desperately buy more ammo with the PDA because the fight just sucked up all of your ammo.[/sp]
-snip I thought this was a movie trailer :v:-

After going through it that way, it felt like cheating once you got the R.Y.N.O.

You mean this plumber?

6:50 if the timestamp doesn't work.
I'm excited. I never played the first game despite owning the rest of the PS2 games. Each game just vastly improved on the gameplay of the one before so it made it hard to go back and play Going Commando despite it being the coolest IMO
As someone who was always a fan of R&C but never actually played a single one of them I'm really excited to buy this one

I remember playing all of them up to the PS3 ones onward.
Even Gladiator/Deadlocked. Ugh.

I'm not sure why people wouldn't like Deadlocked (except for lack of Clank). Admittedly I only played through it once back when it came out, but I still very much enjoyed it back then.

Don't you worry. [sp]He's right were he belongs from the first game[/sp]
The way that Insomniac is going about the story in this game is an interesting take as it's not a "remake", but rather a retelling of the original game based off of memories and such, kinda like a story being told around a fire. I'm also pretty sure that I saw Nefarious in there, but with flesh. Kinda bummed about Drek having a different VA though, I wonder why the original actor didn't?
This in-game cinematic makes me miss those old live-action commercials though. :v:

Playing it back when it came out was fun, but it was quite a drastically different take on the series. I replayed them all these past 2 months as I'm gearing up for April12, and Deadlocked is quite shallow in all honesty. Aside from some dialog it really doesn't hold up to what R&C was originally. That being a platform/adventure-esqe game. If someone completely unfamiliar with the series played through the first 4, I guarantee that they would think DL was some kind of third party $15 spinoff. It wasn't a bad game as far as games go, but it was a rather poor R&C game.

I was kind of dissappointed that the original Drek VA wasn't back as well. I always liked how his voice was done.
I can understand that about DL. I need to return to all the classics someday, its been a super long time since I've played 2, 3, and DL.
If it weren't for the obvious controller movements, I would have thought this was from the movie.
The game itself looks really good but what a goddamn cheesy trailer
It's a game not a dreamworks movie

Captain Quark has always been cheesy as fuck.
It's part of the charm.

That's because some of it is.
I'm not talking about the writing I'm talking about the obnoxious editing and generic trailer pop music
As for the game itself I'm a little disappointed that they seem to just be recycling stuff from the Future series, they're putting in stuff like Mr. Zurkon for the thousandth time but they're missing actual weapons from the first game

Which are basically recycled variants of weapons from the original series anyhow. Zurkon is a better version of the glove of doom, the fusion grenade is the bomb glove, the weapon at 1:00 in the trailer is the predator launcher, which is a multi-missle version of the devastator, the combuster is pretty much the blaster, and the list goes on. And besides, there will be a few weapons and gadgets from the first game, like the pyrocitor, RYNO, hydrodisplacer and trespasser. I'll limit it to those as I've actually seen them from various gameplay demos and won't speculate on what may or may not be, but even then we've only actually seen a handful of the weapons, so we can't say what the full list will be until release.
The only weapon I'm completely against as of now is the pixelator. There's no in-universe explanation for how that could work at all, and it's not like it's a novelty weapon like the morpho-ray or the sheepinator, it seems like it's gonna be as prominent as a regular blaster.
I remember with Going Commando and, iirc, Up Your Arsenal, you could change the system clock to 3AM, stand on top of some fountain, and get teleported to a secret area that had a whole bunch of scrapped beta stuff, and you could even interact with a lot of it. Hopefully they do something similar with this one. I fucking loved that as a kid.

Yeah, the insomniac museums. Was super awesome figuring that out back then, it felt like a load of bullshit when first reading about it. It was also in a crack in time.
