How long will this last until this gets a DMCA from uncle Nintendo?
For a romhack, this is pretty impressive.

Would require a pot of gold and possibly a leprechaun, The Pokemon Company International controls the takedown notices, not Nintendo.

Well it's been in development for around 6 years or so now so if it hasn't been hit yet I don't think it will. At least not until it's already out on the internet.
I have been following this since before the first public beta so this is exciting

All the beta releases have just been .ips patches that require you to have your own ROM, I do.t this k Nintendo could really do anything about that. It is basically a mod
Eh, not my cup of tea; this just looks like a heavily watered down version of the later generations without doing anything actually new whilst at the same time using the Gen II games (specifically Gold) as a base for nearly everything.
Still, at least a lot of effort was put into this and it shows from a technical perspective.

I like how 60 fps is used as kind of a selling point, like, the biggest gimmick is that is runs at a full 60.
Still looks quite impressive though.

Didn't most older games run at 60 too?
I'm thinking that 60fps point was meant to be a joke.

The first three generations. Diamond and Pearl, who are 10 years old, were the first to dip to 30.
I can't even tell if it's a romhack or fangame that recreated the original stuff to the point.

Nope, full on Rom Hack.
The author has made a couple hacks over the years.

Really cool, amazing how much time has been spent into creating a rom hack of this scale. I personally wouldn't want to play it simply because Sun/Moon.
What's even more funny, Super Mario 64 Last Impact: HASN't Been taken down...yet, so Nintendo is apparently fine with something even more in a grey area than fangames.

I think the reason both AM2R and Pokemon Insurgence were hit with DMCAs was because of how immensely popular they became. They likely had no choice but to do so. I haven't hears a lot of press about Last Impact which probably helped avoid Nintendo's C&D's. Hopefully the same can happen to Prism because I've been looking forward to this game for a while now.
Wow, this is an actual ROM hack? Extremely impressive. I might give this a whirl, since I've been meaning to play some gen 2 again.

How long until people understand that this is not the right way of doing fangames.
Shit that's a cool way to debut it

Why remake an entire Pokemon system by scratch when you have existing games that have it done for you?
For anyone that's worried that this might get DMCA'ed or something, here's a statement by the creator of the romhack:
Isn't Nintendo going to take this down?!
Prism will be distributed as a patch file. This is essentially a set of computer instructions on how to modify a legally obtained copy of the Pokémon Crystal ROM in order for it to become Prism. The patch file itself contains no copyrighted material and can be distributed freely. See more info here.
A lot of people have pointed to the similarities between Prism and another recently developed fan game, Pokémon Uranium, which was allegedly taken down after a copyright claim from Nintendo (although whether the copyright claim was genuine is a matter of increasing uncertainty). The two main differences are that Uranium was distributed as a standalone executable, which contained copyrighted material the developers didn't own, and that the Uranium developers crowd-funded their work, meaning they accepted money for copyrighted material they didn't own. Since Prism is neither of these things, it is very unlikely it will suffer the same fate as Uranium. We must also take into account that TPP is arguably more well known than Uranium and has successfully released two ROM hacks over the past two years. So far, there has been no incident.
