I couldn't find a YouTube link, but here's the video on Fox's site. It's worth the full ten minute watch.

he handled the interview very well

Stating his credentials off the bat was such a smart move.
Now let's sit back and think about if it were a christian person writing about islam.
Very well spoken. Impressive how he handled himself, I might give his book a look.
I'm not actually surprised at how well he handled it. He's a professor of religion being interviewed by some news bimbo.
Listening to that woman was really annoying. She kept on coming back to his religion like why would you do that?
Wow the "news" anchor was so bad at her job. It was painful to listen to her.
ISLAMOPHOBIA? ON MY FOX NEWS!?
[sp]I don't think anyone is suprised, those guys hate islam with a passion[/sp]
Also, why did she keep going back to islam? This book had nothing to do with it.
I love how he keeps talking down at the reporter.
Did the video just get taken down? I finished watching it, refreshed the page and it's gone
Edit: Huh, it's back
It's pretty clear that there are those who actually do not like the book who are unhappy with its general arguments. That's perfectly fine. I'm more than willing to talk about the arguments of the book itself but I do think it's perhaps a little bit strange that rather than debating the arguments of the book, we are debating the right of the scholar to actually write it.
Shit son, end of interview right there
You can even hear the interviewer's tone of voice completely change after he said that
This guy has been on every channel in the past couple weeks
even the people on MSNBC got pissed at him
but do you guys want to know a secret
[sp]jesus never existed[/sp]

He absolutely existed, there are roman legal records stating it. The question is wether or not he was magic and came back to life after he was crucified.
What legal records
Only took 1:10 for Fox to make me cringe.
That's hardly a debate, she kept coming back to his religion, it's literally ONLY thing she's said during entire "debate".
Props to author though, he handled himself quite well.

jesus was a real dude, it's just that he probably couldn't walk on water and he also probably wasn't the son of god.

You're confusing Jesus with God.

Its pretty hard to claim "Jesus never existed" when there is supporting evidence from witness accounts from the New Testament as well as an account from Josephus, who was a contemporary at the time.
Witness accounts from the New Testament
you have got to be kidding me
Josephus' writings only appeared only a century after Jesus?
Much like all other non-Christian writings
this happens every time and it's hilarious
"WHAT HE TOTALLY EXISTED EVERY SCHOLAR SAYS SO"
"WHAT IS EMPIRICISM"
fucking hell just accept that there was a normal guy around 2020 years ago called joshua

Historians believe a man called Jesus existed and that he had followers. It is his deity that people disagree on.
Should I take it on faith then?

Historians believe
Historians of the New Testament believe
otherwise why would they continue studying the New Testament

No, fucking historians believe - ask your professor in history. I'm an atheist, have been since forever. The sources are roman legal records (as far as I remember), not the fucking bible. You're simply going out on a limb here.
From Wikipedia:
Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed,[1][2][3][4] and although there is little agreement on the historicity of gospel narratives and their theological assertions of his divinity,[5][6][7][8] biblical scholars and classical historians regard theories of his non-existence as effectively refuted.
Get your shit together.
Funny how the smartest individuals can be corroded by retarded religions. If anyone is about to tell me that I should respect his religion, please give me a quote back from the "6th" pillar of Islam.

Jesus supposedly died around 30 AD, and Josephus wrote his thing around 90 AD. That's not "a century after".

From Wikipedia:
Get your shit together.
Yeah I read a page on Wikipedia once as well. They "refuted" it with evidence from the New Testament, the only concrete evidence they have, a religious text. If you had actually looked at the citations and actually at the historians it quotes, you'd know that it's historians of the New Testament. Theologians who have a fully vested interest in the historical existence of Jesus.

Ask your history professor then? What does he/she think? Or are you simply putting yourself on a pedestal saying "I know better than those plebeian historians"?
