This shit is trippy
makes me want to travel. Man, I was supposed to go hitchhiking this weekend
This just made me realize we basically have a large chunk of our planet pretty much completely mapped out in a frozen "snapshot" via google streetview
What's really gonna suck is keeping streetview up to date :v: I imagine in as little as 10 years most of current streetview will be completely outdated and they'll need to streetview all over again.
I loved it when if followed something, made it feel really 3D. Maybe if I make one of my commute it will seem more interesting somehow.
Damn it, now I wanna go on another road trip... Too bad I'm surrounded by deserts to the east, nothing of interest to the north, water to the west, and Mexico (aka I don't wanna get shot or have to pay la policia a bribe) to the south.
Holy shit this is cool.
Man, I really enjoyed the spinning through the city parts, why didn't anyone think of doing this before?
The clouds are the coolest thing to watch in my opinion.
When they drove on the bridge, the supports seemed to move in random directions
That was awesome
Where the hell was that coastal road in the beginning, the one that went upwards? That was fucking beautiful.

It looked like the bridge to Key West.

I can name a huge amount of locations in that video despite their inconspicuous appearance.
EDIT: Maybe you were thinking of the road with all the tunnels, I'm pretty sure that's Norway near Lofoten or Geiranger. Just go to any of those places in Google maps and place yourself near any lake or coast and chances are it'll look like that.
why is the bridge on the right chopped up in places?
maybe it's not finished yet

This is really awesome. I just wish there was a way to slow down the speed of your own Hyperlaspe.

go check out the rockies if you haven't already
that was a really cool idea. I could watch this for hours. I hope someone will make a hyperlapse tour around the world
FYI Google Street View originally filmed as a 360 degrees video stream and only then cut into photos.
How cool would it be to drive a van around for Google taking pictures, and get paid for it.
the longer it is the less frames it allows, lame
Wonder where 0:21 is, that's prettiest to me
the way some of the curves in the road sort of timed with the music made me think of audiosurf
It would be pretty cool to see that in action for that one countryside road where at some point it switches between winter and summer

They progressively rescan areas depending on how much the landscape changes. If you use map maker, you can flag locations that are out of date, and they'll redo them.
Easy way to tell what's new and what isn't is to just open street view. Google shows the image dates right there.

I can't create my own, says some shit about WebGL and to use Chrome. Which I do. Looking at chrome://flags/, it says it's not available on my platform. Horseshit

They're constantly redoing areas, my town originally got Street View in June 2008 and they just redid it last October. Big cities I imagine get redone even more often
That was Awsome! :D
