Yeah, Syndicate looks like a terrible game, but that doesn't make Colin's vidoes any less cool. Actually really surprised that it appears to work.
Colin is a crazy engineer guy. Most of the stuff he mans is fascinating.
It makes it even better that he doesn't even have education as an engineer, he was a plumber or something I think.

Engineers don't exactly solder stuff together to make cool shit.
For the stuff he does people don't get education, they just need practice and a good head.
Can't wait for his 3rd part, I wonder if he'll manage to up the power so it goes a little faster.
crossover with slingshot channel please
I remember the mythbusters episode on this. Basically you can't shoot very far because it would break your arm, and you cannot get winched up quickly for the same reason. Best we can hope for is short distance, slow winch.
Maybe if we had some sort of exo-suit that distributed the force better, but short of that a grappling hook is anatomically unfeasible.

I can't imagine it's entirely impossible for a wearable harness, look at for example, people wearing a parachute, of course parachutes aren't exactly an instant stop of momentum, but people are tough enough for those, if the acceleration is controlled, I can see the grapple hook pulling people up at something faster than 0.2 miles an hour.

Parachutes are fixed to the core of the body. Grappling hooks like this are fixed to the arm, and at the same amount of force that the shock of a parachute could produce would tear arm out of the shoulder socket, if not not fracturing the elbow while at it.
It would be nice if youtubers could actually follow the laws regarding native advertisement/sponsored work.
Putting in the very bottom of the description which is automatically hidden is not adequate for the new rules.

Why does it really matter? Its painfully obvious that they sponsor him, just like his other videos on the Tuk Tuk from Farcry.

Because the FTC says so? and in general is pretty scummy.
The fact that I had to check, and the only reason why I thought to check was because of its cooincidental timing with another Ubisoft sponsored "advertisement", is in itself testiment to how poorly disclosed this sponsorship deal is.
At least he is doing something constructive with his sponsorship
As a person majoring in manufacturing, his welding and lathing are beautiful, and his process of building makes me jealous.

he hasn't been doing it long either. I remember a while back he did some hydroforming with a pressure washer and he just laid porous booger welds that leaked like crazy

Yes but I doubt most metal turners n shit could make jet engines from scrap :v:

And then they build an actual minigun that fires needles.

Does the FTC have any jurisdiction on Colin, considering he's not from the US, the content is not made in the US? And why does it matter, especially considering he does actually disclose it.

Yes, yes it does, since the company that technically owns the channel and is contracting the content, and pay him for it.(Fullscreen in his case) is based out of the US.
