wasn't able to last a minute im out
brentalfloss is the fucking worst. holy shit that was embarrassing [editline]25th February 2014[/editline] who gave this dumb prick the ego to think that this was a good idea
this is laughably bad
Absolutely fucking disgusting. Didn't even last ten seconds before I wanted to strangle brentalfloss.
I'm not heavily invested in the Metroid series, but this hurt.
His older stuff was better, by older I mean everything before his first CD.
I usually like Brentalfloss, but seriously, this sounded like one of those intentionally bad songs you hear in the older South Park episodes.
Hello, I'm Brentalfloss. I'm going to make a music video that says everything that happens on camera.
remember when samus just went around fighting cybernetic dinosaurs and interdimensional shadow gods in her two ton suit of metal death i liked those days, let's go back to those days
It's odd that some people characterise Samus like this. I mean even putting Other M aside, I've seen a couple other fan things that do something similar and it's just really odd to me. The whole series has been about Samus tackling a fucking intergalactic organisation of space pirates, infiltrating and destroying a number of their strongholds all by her fucking self, not to mention completely eradicating a dangerous parasitic species. Some people are intent on making Samus their ~waifu~, well fuck that, the Samus that continually fucks up the Space Pirates shit and don't need no man is my waifu, not some misty eyed wreck of a character.
how fucking awful
remember when samus just went around fighting cybernetic dinosaurs and interdimensional shadow gods in her two ton suit of metal death i liked those days, let's go back to those days
To be honest, it is also quite interesting to see Samus as a whole character, and not just a machine of war. The problem is that whenever Nintendo does it, they just show us how ass backward they are with women in videogames.

oh god lol I thought this was a legitimate game trailer for the first 20 seconds and was like "what the fuck have they done to the series" before I actually realized the truth :v:
I could feel the embarrassment dribbling out of my pores as I dared to watch this garbage. I feel ill.
metroid fusion was advertised as this dark story of samus becoming the monster she hunts but really most of the dialogue was her talking about some guy she used to like
Who finally ends up being an AI in her ship or some shit like that... How the fuck did that happen.
Other M 2 looks great!
Such talent wasted. He could of used it on porn man.
metroid fusion was advertised as this dark story of samus becoming the monster she hunts but really most of the dialogue was her talking about some guy she used to like
I usually like to think Fusion helped lead to Other M, even though it is technically a sequel to it; map linearity, Adam as a controlling character (which is the guy she likes, btw), even a similar story ([sp]"OMG Da Galactic Federation's been cloning da fuck otta metroids!!1!" which is an interesting though underutilized concept[/sp]). It sucks that the latest metroid games want to make Samus as the girly and weak of the two female stereotypes Japan plays to (the other being the bulky/manly kind, I think). It was better when she was a mostly-silent protag kicking ass in an environment not unlike the original Metroid. Unfortunately I think both Other M and Fusion were more popular in Japan because of that fact, but even I will be willing to deal with that kind of Samus if it gets us more Metroids.
Who finally ends up being an AI in her ship or some shit like that... How the fuck did that happen.
because metroid is now about samus monologuing about how great adam malkovich is and how he's smart and strong and wise and hot You know what was cool about prime? Samus did stuff, she wasn't a robot, but she never let anything get in the way of the mission. She knew that action was more important than sentiment. That's the Samus that's cool, that's the Samus I want to play as.
metroid fusion was advertised as this dark story of samus becoming the monster she hunts but really most of the dialogue was her talking about some guy she used to like
I didn't mind her relationship with the AI/[sp]Adam[/sp] in Fusion. It gives less of a love-dovey sort of thing and more of a father-daughter type thing, and Samus is still a badass in Fusion.
jesus christ. metroid is my favorite nintendo series ever and this is like slamming me in the face with a 2x4 covered in lemon juice, salt, and glass.
In the Next metroid, your zero suit is replaced with a maid outfit.

It's kind of evident though because of, well, as previously mentioned, Metroid Fusion was the last game before Other M that he had any real control over in writing. I heard Other M is the product of him freely writing for the game with little to no restriction. But this is what I've heard, so I may be wrong. It's unfortunate because most of the Japanese players who played the game liked it, the same section of fans who did not like/despised the Prime series. Though, their depiction and portrayal of woman characters and what's acceptable for them is way different than almost any other country. v:v:v More on topic: I couldn't even start the video because just the title was enough to make me feel ill.
Well, technically, more people think Metroid is a guy in a suit than people think Link is called Zelda.
But that's the magic of it! No one expected to see a woman come out of that suit at the end of the original Metroid. It was a breath of fresh air of sorts. It was wonderful. Surprises like that, and then the knowledge of it for every game afterwards just makes the series that much more special and distant (in a good way) from every other franchise. Writing Samus as a ~sensitive~ person kind of ruins that.
