I hadn't heard this before. It's pretty surreal, whenever I think of Hitler I think of a screaming maniac. His voice is a whole lot deeper than I would've expected.
pretty crazy I'd love to hear him just talk about nothing, like, talk about his favorite food or something, where you'd have no idea he was him from what he said. Would be pretty unreal.
Hitler was a person like any other. So many people hold this demonized view of him and fail to realize that he was a human being, albeit a little... political.
If I remember the backstory correctly, this was secretly recorded by someone while on a Train.

Hitler did lots of human things. I read he went to the bathroom once.

Plus people dont really talk about how good of a leader Hitler was for Germany, he essentially turned it from shit to a superpower. Probably would have went down in history as one of the great leaders if he didnt instead turn into one of the worst humans in history and WW2 never happened.
There's actually quite a bit of evidence that Hitler's personal doctor, during his time as leader of Germany, had him put on quite a few different drugs and "alternative treatments" that basically were the reason he sort of went insane during his middle-to-later years as leader of Germany. Before he was dead, he had become addicted to amphetamines and all other sorts of things, and had to have a lot of recurring treatments by his doctor. If he had never been assigned that doctor, it's entirely possible that WWII would have never happened. Pretty freaky, IMO.
I wasn't expecting his voice to be that deep Pretty interesting to hear I reckon
This video isn't available in your country. Is it ironic that I live in germany?
Doesn't sound like he's on a train. Even how the person who recorded it "secretly" had massive balls to do that.
I would actually be more terrified of Mannerheim than Hitler if I was the one secretly recording.
Totally agree with this meaningless statement. Hitler did lots of human things. I read he went to the bathroom once.
wow someone doesn't get it who knew
Doesn't sound like he's on a train. Unless it's stationary.
It's recorded on a train in Finland, Hitler is talking to Mannerheim, leader of the Finnish military and later president of Finland. The reason he was recorded speaking normally was that the engineer responsible for the recording kept recording after some official birthday speeches and so on had been recorded. Hitler strictly prohibited ever being recorded when he talked casually. The engineer actually got caught doing so but they never informed Hitler of it I believe so it was stuck in some Finnish media archive for decades. It sounds like someone walks in and interrupts near the beginning when they pause. Imagine being that guy. "Whoops, sorry Mr Hitler."
Hitler was a person like any other. So many people hold this demonized view of him and fail to realize that he was a human being, albeit a little... political.
everyone who's ever firebombed a civilian population center was a human being, and so was everyone who gunned down kids in the My Lai massacre, or raped Nanking - much like everyone who's been a victim of those crimes was a human being too. yeah there was a person deep down in there at one time, but that doesn't mean he won't always be a heinous war criminal first and a person second
I would actually be more terrified of Mannerheim than Hitler if I was the one secretly recording.
Stalin would be fun to record.
I can't even imagine
I remember the History Channel had a whole documentary about adding sound to Hitler's silent home movies and they really wanted to know what he sounded like and found an old clip, this one if I'm not mistaken, that was taken from some spies who bugged his train car. Neat stuff.
this is amazing. how this recording survived is amazing alone
you mean to tell me he could use more than an outside voice?
It sounds like someone walks in and interrupts near the beginning when they pause. Imagine being that guy. "Whoops, sorry Mr Hitler."
and then Hitler starts screaming and exclaiming that he much be executed on the spot [editline]20th July 2014[/editline] honestly a deep voice from him shouldn't be at all surprising to anyone just look at all the yelling he does
na he became hitler's doctor after hitler had invaded poland, so WWII was well on its way by then, that guy was a quack who had him on uppers, downers and everything else a german chemist could synthesize back then (which was quite a lot)
Do you have a source? I don't doubt you, the last I read of his doctor was months ago, just curious as to when he was actually Hitler's doctor.
Hitler was probably a killer, but he had a great charisma.
I have seen a few old photos and short footage of him being this super nice and laughing smiling guy, pretty crazy seeing that stuff and hearing this after hearing about how awful he is your entire life. A lot of its surging in power was due to massive reallocation of resources and workforce, rather than any real increases. Even if Hitler had done all the same things without attempting to invade Europe, Germany would still likely have collapsed eventually, because Nazi tactics were often focussed on short-term success rather than any kind of long-term triumph. [editline]21st July 2014[/editline]
Stalin would be fun to record.
Didn't Stalin in reality have quite a high-pitched, gentle voice, and therefore despised being recorded?
After hearing Downfall's Hitler voice so much this is an eye-opener.
This video isn't available in your country. Is it ironic that I live in germany?
It's not available in my country either, even though I don't live in Germany. [editline]21st July 2014[/editline] Now it's time to spend another 15 minutes to find some kind of workaround.
