A neat alternative for people having issues with Flash Player.
Haven't checked this out yet but it looks really good!
I hope it supports mpc-hc though because I prefer that over vlc.
I use this all the time, I even made a little launcher for it. If anyone's interested in running this program tell me and I'll link it in this post.

That'd be neat!
that'd be pretty sweet, don't suppose you could add some sort of favorites menu/history or whatever that remembers previous steams you've been too so you don't have to type them every time?

I might add this, but the source is included in my post now so feel free to improve it
I would but I don't know a lick of coding at all
thank you very much for upping what you've done already though!
flash-player is so unbelievably shit
sucks that the adoption of HTML5 video is slow
Got it working with 64bit MPC-HC and it works just absolutely great.

I'm only getting sound when using 64bit mpc. How'd you get the video working for it?

All I did was change line 22 in the config to this:

I didn't change anything else.

How did you set MPC as the default player?
[QUOTE=Dog;43942828]flash-player is so unbelievably shit

The only way I can use YouTube is by forcing HTML5 videos with some plugin, flash videos just don't load right on my internet. It's really fun to get one of those record label channels that only allow flash players.

The picture he posted does exactly that. MPC doesn't work 100% though on my end though. The video only works about 50% of the time.

I added that line within the config although when i attempt to run the livestreamer it looks for vlc which isn't on the computer.
Nvm got it working ;)
Oh boy, livestreamer. Using that all the time. Even made my own program to add streams and watch them.

To use it you need java installed, sorry about that.

Very nice! Even better than mine :)
It's hilarious how much crap you seem to be capable of doing with VLC, it's almost more of a media suite than a video player, with the exception that it seems to suck for watching high fps footage.

To be honest, yours is better to just start up and watch. Mine is a bit bloated with the stream list storing and can take up some time to start when you have a lot of stream added since it checks with the Twitch api if the stream is online or not.
Whenever I use this with MPC-HC, the player says file not found.

So does this only work with twitch or does it work with livestream, too?

Yes and it works with multiple other services too

You sure your MPC-HC is in "Program Files (x86)"?
Mine was in "Program Files" and i had to edit the config file and remove (x86).
Judging from his screenshot, livestreamer does find the player though - It's the player that won't play the stream.
Does this work on a Mac as well?

Make sure your mpc is version 1.7 or later.
