Now that, is a fucking good doctor.
That was some heavy shit.
For the sake of the people in Syria, I sure as hell hope that doctor keeps being able to treat people.
Jesus H christ that poor kid [sp]with his guts out in the open[/sp] :c
Why cant NATO mobilize some troops to fuck these assholes up?
Why cant NATO mobilize some troops to fuck these assholes up?
I think it's best for everyone if we just stay out of their, we really don't want to be going around looking for another Afghanistan or anything.
Why cant NATO mobilize some troops to fuck these assholes up?
Because of the dickheads known as Russia and China.
give those fucking doctors awards.
give those fucking doctors awards.
I hope by awards you mean medicine
cause I think they can get along okay without an award
turkey should help... but they don't like their Arab neighbors
It makes me so sad, that the world is like this. I mean, this asshole Assad is drinking a cocktail and children die because of him. I hope they fuck him up one day
Why cant NATO mobilize some troops to fuck these assholes up?
NATO has tried going through the UN, but Russia and China have Veto'd any actions every time they've tried. This is most likely because they both still sell tons of weapons to Syria. Syria is also Russia's Israel, in a sense. Another problem thats arisen is that both sides are guilty of war crimes. Executing prisoners, rape, child soldiers, and targeting civilians. The whole war is fucked, and everyone is guilty, just the FSA is a little less guilty.
This is truly upsetting.
I posted this to my Facebook, hoping to shed some light onto it.
Yeah, posting on facebook sure changes the world...
Why cant NATO mobilize some troops to fuck these assholes up?
Because it's out of the region of influence. Remember, NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. While the name isn't entirely representative of NATO (Turkey is in it for example), NATO's area of influence is Europe and the very immediate regions. Since north Africa is extremely close to Europe, an intervention in Libya was close enough to fall under a NATO action.
The problem with Syria is that it's decidedly far away enough to be difficult to use a NATO intervention unless Turkey is attacked and invokes article 5 (states that when a NATO nation is attacked, military response is sanctioned under a NATO conflict).
There's also another host of issues with Syrian intervention. Syria is a major consumer of Russian weapons. Russia has loads of money to make by keeping the Assad regime in power. In the same vein, Russia's largest (or second largest) military base outside of Russia is in Syria. The Russians have a huge presence in Syria. This means that if any UN intervention is being proposed, Russia will veto it, and since the security council has veto power, it is literally impossible for a UN sanctioned intervention.
So NATO is out of the picture, and as a result of the antiquated institution of the security council, any possible UN resolution is halted dead in its tracks.
That was just as brutal as I was expecting it to be, if not worse.

Several members of my family are parts of community groups that could probably get in touch with aid workers.
No need to be a wanker about it.
I can't wait for the upcoming documentary...

So talk to them.
This new general idea that posting and sharing on facebook really changes anything and mobilizes people is just a huge ilusion.
It's just a way people find of feeling they are contributing, a fake way to say "I've done all I can" and then keep on living like anything happened cause "I've done my part".
Posting on facebook will only raise people's awareness so much. What people will do is share and like because "killing innocents is bad". They'll feel compassionate and nothing more.
We need to pressure our governments, not random pages and petitions on facebooks, because no 1 milion likes aren't going to change shit.
That will just be like another KONY 2012, the cause everyone was so eager to support because it had that shitty video behind, and now after a while nobody gives a shit about Kony. That's what will happen to this if it goes on facebook.
Also, if you don't pressure the government, if you don't ask for help to the right people instead of sharing on facebook, nobody will ever be able to officially send any help whatsoever.

Raising awareness is important, whether you do it by handing out fliers in front of a starbux or sharing a link on facebook. The reason KONY2012 fizzled out was because he hadn't been a threat since like 2003. Sharing this video on facebook doesn't do a whole lot, but at least it's something.
its ok guys, I posted this on twitter
