This was such an odd game to re-release considering the original still looks and plays pretty damn good.

There only doing it so fans and new fans can relive Wind Waker. Plus when they were experimenting new graphics on old games they found out that Wind Waker looked the best and wanted to share it and it will hold us over till the new Zelda game comes out.
I love this game so much. It's only second to majora's mask really (ocarina of time was good but lacked the creepy atmosphere of majora's mask)

To be honest out of the two games on gamecube, twilight princess would have gotten more "oomph" out of a HD makeover. The cel-shading style of windwaker hides a lot of technical flaws and still looks really nice even to this day. Twilight princess looks really blurry and just flat out... bleh... Even for end of life gamecube game standards. But Nintendo probably has their reasons.

The Wii version of TP didn't look that bad

iirc Nintendo said they tried both Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword before testing the Wind Waker.
Animated blood?
Also it looks fantastic
in the original some enemies splattered out purple / green "blood" when you hit them
Did they crank up the Cel Shading?

It makes sense seeing as working gamecubes are hard to find, and gamecube games are absurdly expensive
I don't like the bloom. It kind of messes up some of the colors, in my opinion. But man, this game really has aged well with the style it has.
I'd probably buy HD versions of TP and SS. I've seen some screenshots of Skyward Sword on an emulator in 1080p and it looks absolutely fantastic. The Wii's pitiful resolution output didn't do the game justice.
They actually reduced the bloom, plus having played in person it isn't as bad as it seems.
Wow. I'm buying a WiiU for this.
