Note: I like GTA and Saints Row for different reasons.

This is awesome. And entirely correct. GTA4 is a legitimately good game, whereas the only thing Saint's Row the Third looks to have going for it is that absurdity gimmick that's going to get old after twenty minutes.

I wonder at what age children learn that people are different, and an inherent side effect of that is liking different shit.

Saints Row 2 kept me entertained a lot longer than GTA4, since there's much more to do once you finish the plot.

This, this, and this some more.
I hardly could even beat Grand Theft Auto 4 because by the end of it, I was bored out of my skull. Sure, it has a good story and is more realistic, but that is its downfall. The realism gets boring after a while. I would have preferred a more GTA San Andreas style game over it.
how much of this video is mods
I love both games. Both are very unique and fun.

GTA! A beautifully written story of betrayal and revenge set in the atmospheric liberty city! With a riveting story and stunning plot twists, you'll have hours of fun!
Saints row! An eccentric romp across a city full of character and charm. With entertaining side missions, an intense story and some truly epic moments, you'll have hours of fun.
GTA is a drama, Saints row is a comedy. They are both brilliant.
Deal with it.
Ya fanny.
I've played through SR2 about 3 times.
I started playing GTAIV twice and never beat it either time.
And its funny that the only thing that was showing off the fun in GTAIV in the video were all the ridiculous mods. While in Saints Row that stuff comes as standard.
I honestly couldn't stand to play either Saints Row. The environments were just overall unexciting and bland, the plot was...bleh, the characters were completely stale and unlikeable, and the actual sandbox wasn't even worth t. The physics were terribly bad int he second one. Like, not even purposefully bad, like "I'm using a bouncy car to run over weightless balloon people" bad. I can understand why people could like it, but it's not my sort of thing.
GTA IV on the other hand is. It's gritty, realistic, and the story was not only long, I was drawn in by it. It's a completely different game than SR.
I mean, to each his own, but I don't see the appeal in SR, at all. I don't play GTA to smack people with purple dildos, and I don't play SR if I want anything other than a sandbox with story elements.
Basically what I'm saying is I prefer GTA over SR, because SR is not GTA, and is not nearly as 'serious' as GTA.
I loved GTA IV i still play it daily and the amount of mods for PC just make it better, I prefer realism because to me realism = fun, I can get immersed in the story and characters but SR2 just never appealed to me I enjoyed it enough but it wasn't anything special to me

Also why are people comparing a brand new game to a 3 year old one? At least wait for GTA V
oh god the credits

Cant agree more, Both games are great.
Do not fucking start a fight about two different games and which one was better. They are good for different reasons, let them co-exist and shut the fuck up.

I never really got anywhere in the story after I realized you could push people down staircases.
It just turned into Stair Dismount 2 after that.

When will people learn?
Grand Theft Auto is focused mostly on story. Saints Row is focused mostly on fun. There's a big difference.
I still say that gta is the better game. And im taking into account both saints row 1 and 2 and all the gta's.
Gta created the legacy and started to take a more serious path which i liked, but it sacrificed some over the top things that a lot of people got butthurt about. Gta is very witty and with clever writing, meanwhile saints row really is just going for the gimmicky comedy all around. Look at past gta's like vice city and san andreas. Both of those games took place in different decades and rockstar captured them perfectly, had elements on pop culture in them, poked fun at popular movies and styles back then. They capture the drug run miami of the 1980's washed in neon lights and 80's club scenes. They perfectly recreated 90's LA during the rise of hiphop and rap and gang wars.
Not to say that saint's row is a bad game, it is far from it and i play it quite often when i get bored, it just annoys me that people compare the two and usually say the say old, reiterated arguments.
GTA is moving away from the sandbox style it had in the older games and becoming more of a serious plot-driven game. Saints Row is moving the exact opposite direction. They're similar, but they serve entirely different purposes.
I found the video very funny good work, Saints row is going to be good though.
So I'm the only one who fucking loves GTA IV and its episodes?
i always wanted to play Saints row 2 but that optimization, man....

Such an incredibly dumb thing to say.
Everyone has different opinions. I've only completed around 20% of SR2, and I'm already bored with it.
I RP'd the shit out of GTA IV, it took me over 100 hours to complete it, and I enjoyed every second of it.
What the Saints Row series has to offer isn't fun to me. Saying that people who likes GTA over SR hates having fun is simply ignorant, if they didn't enjoy it they wouldn't play it, now would they?
my opinion is better than your opinion
Shut. The Fuck. Up.
How can you know if the GTA serie is going to be more serious, GTA4 is the only one to be serious.
Maybe R* made an experiment or maybe because they wanted to do a real plot this time.

TBOGT wasn't serious.
I feel like SR3 is gonna be like Duke Nukem: Forever, over-hyped and gimmicky, doing everything to grab the customers eye, like a purple dildo.
[editline]YOU, YES YOU, DONT POST, UR A FGET[/editline]
Also the ending with all the characters warmed my heart.
It was funny
I won't go into the whole debate on which game had the best gameplay, but, I will say this: Saints Row 2 was the most unoptimised pieces of crap I've ever played on the PC. It was even worse than GTA IV which is quite a feat in itself.
