8:00 pm right now in my country. I started downloading it around 9:00 am. 91 % and 30 minutes left... TIRED OF FUCKING WAITING!
Took me about 2 hours to download.

Well good for you!
Not all of us can afford that on our own.
(That and Canada sucks, seriously, 35GB is half of my bandwidth cap, and only 10mb/s that never goes that high because they cut it at 5mb/s).
If I were to download this it would about 15 hours or so with 1 mb/s download speed
Well fuck mine is 100KB/s max.
29 GB.
jesus christ
wow I am extremely glad I preordered it at Gamestop. With my worse-than-dialup connection I might have had to wait a few years to play
I'm just wondering but if file sizes continue to grow quicker for games then the proportional increase in peoples bandwidth is it possible that piracy would reduce. I mean I realize some people have fiber optic but many countries have no access to that level of speed because companies in their country monopolize the industry and would rather charge ridiculous amounts for standard internet then pipe people up with fiber optic. Here in the UK for instance the average internet speed is god awful in comparison to current technology.
I mean seriously people are going to have a hard time pirating the fucking thing because it's 29GB, downloading isn't even the worse of that, who would bother to even upload that much. Alternate way to deal with piracy = make your game 10000GB and only provide retail discs (that's a joke btw).
Man i really want that game, 30 gb? lets see how much space i have left.

nope
gonna rent it for PS3

I don't even know where half that shit is
From what I've seen this game is basically worse than gta 4 and ends up being exactly like uncharted with few gimmicks.
I have a 300 KB/s download speed. :(
What about the part of decrypting the files for hours?
So what's the space for? Game looks really generic, so this is what, HD textures for everything?

I heard someone say the High Quality cut scenes take a good chunk of memory, and the game is beautifully made so don't talk shit.
My friend bought it retail and told me that there were 4 discs and it took ~2 hrs to install

There are 4 disks but he must have an awful computer if it took that long to install. Only took me 15 minutes.
Change the title to "Steam pre-load experience" so we have all of our bases covered.
Why you all complaining, all I got is 25kb/sec.
My record is 54
where have I heard that end music before? Sounds so familiar.
I preloaded this in a bit more than an hour at my maxinum speed, this has NEVER happened before when I preload. Then my PC crashed during decrypting and I had to download 10 gigs again at 100-200kb. I guess it went too well to begin with.
Why not just buy it on DVD?
I can say that the wait was definitely worth it, and it's a rather good PC port unlike GTA IV. Fantastic game all around.
Took me an 45 minutes to an hour.
Discs ftw?

I know your feel, do you live in an area with shitty coverage or is your ISP balls? We switched ISP's earlier this year and we get 800kb/s instead of 56kb/s
This video made me appreciate my fast internet a whole lot more.
