http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/04/10/dark-souls-2-gameplay-reveal-12-minute-demo Sorry for the link, but this is amazing. If you haven't played Dark Souls or Demon's Souls, I highly recommend you do. Demon's Souls is PS3 exclusive, but Dark Souls is on all platforms.
I hope a lot of the things we see in this demo are unfinished. I think graphically it looks way worse than dark souls. It definitely looks like it feels more like demon's souls which could be good or bad depending on how you felt about it. I hate to come across as negative since I love the series so much, but I'm still skeptical.
I could transparently see the subtle but immense sadistic satisfaction in the eyes of the dev sitting to the left. Looks fucking beautiful. What was the fucking point of the interviewer though? He didn't ask any questions, comment on anything, or even react. If I was that guy I would be praising the environment work and the new graphics and would be asking all types of questions. Honestly the environments look a lot more threatening and evil compared to Dark Souls 1 which to me felt cool looking sometimes but really tame and not scary or evil. From what they have shown I am pretty hyped as fuck for it now.
Loved the two last minutes of the video :v: looking forward to playing this. it looks really beautiful

I dunno, I don't think it looks worse, I think they were just more concerned about the lighting engine. I'm assuming it'll be the same case for the PC version as it was with Dark Souls 1, where everything already looks great; it just needs a .dll injection to give it higher resolution, anti-aliasing, v-sync, uncapped framerates, and ambient occlusion. And honestly, I couldn't care less if that's what had to happen again, once I installed DSFix I couldn't stop playing Dark Souls. I still can't. And so I will remain optimistic that Dark Souls II will deliver.
I heard the main guy behind Dark Souls was off the team so I was a bit worried but I'm happy with how this looks now. I was afraid they might try to make it easier but it looks like the same game but with better graphics. Exactly what I want.
lol @ the axe guy

and can he not close his mouth or something? he looks a little vegetative, just sitting there slack-jawed and silent. game looks amazing, anyways. i wish they'd talked more about specific mechanics, though. like are those "drop stones of healing" like estus flasks, or are they back to items you have to farm for like the various grasses of demon's souls?
Hyped as fuck.
Youtube mirror so you don't have to use IGN's shitty video player:
There is also a new trailer:

A: He takes no damage, yet when he's purposefully trying to die he does. B: Shrek in Jail seems like a scripted sequence. C: You can heal while moving, which means you can just run and heal at the same time. D: The skeledragon had a wind up time of 10 seconds, giving you far too much time to get away from it. E: Torches block all damage. F: Combat is slow Not saying i'm not hyped, but i'm still worried the game is gonna go backwards on a few things.
combat is almost always slow in dark souls PvE dude

This showed for a split second in the trailer. holy shit
That axe guy on the giant sword + deflecting the axes is so baller
I like the areas with the ability to use torches, allows you to fight with vision or blind but keeping your shield. Small things like that is what makes it for me. Looks good and the armour showcased looks nice too.

Enemies dropped those like candy.
Devs always beef up the stats when they show off gameplay.
In a game about challenge and dying, it's going to give off the wrong impression. And you're ignoring all the other issues with it as well.

As much as it seemed a bit easier, it's almost certain that they're working on the core of the game and haven't really gotten down to the balance yet. Of course he was also wearing some pretty heavy armour and even in Dark Souls, that does make it easier.
I'm praying dark magic is gone, or nerfed to some degree. I like my ass unblasted.
With the abundence of larger wyverns and drakes, and more emphasis on dragons, I'd assume it's a prequel so dark magic is either the normal magic or not discovered yet.
Looks amazing, really looking forward to the new dynamic enemies.
