Looks pretty cool. I don't know why I was getting a Holly Black vibe from it, but I did.
God damn, that sound design is fucking incredible.
Note the developers specifically made it so the game doesn't rely on jumpscares because they themselves had horror fears while making the game.

Well, and especially in a format like this, jumpscares wouldn't really work. It just tells me this game is being made by people who know their shit about making games.

That's the thing, whoever is behind it is a complete wizard. The feeling of dread playing this outmatches even Akira Yamaoka with what he did to Silent Hill.
Not many horror games take the bird eye view route, looks interesting.
I really like that bite into title at the end of this trailer
The character portraits in this game are top notch. I mean, everything in this game is top notch, but I just love the character portraits.
oh yeah that game that used its kick starter money to get medicine/treatment for one of the dev's family. im glad that they finally relased it
God I got knots in my stomach just from watching this. Could this be the horror game that I've been searching for?
So it's good? If good I buy

very very good but quite unforgiving, if you like STALKER this has a very similar progression

If you're a big fan of horror I highly recommend it.
I played it and it spooked me a few times. Me whispering really fast, "what the fuck" when seeing the door creak open and no one came through. Hearing the knocks on the doors. "DON'T COME IN."
Looks like I'd get Heart Palpitations playing this.
What's this? Is this survival game or story-driven game?
What's this? Is this survival game or story-driven game?
Both, it doesn't have an annoying hunger or thirst meter though, so health and stamina are the only important stats.
it's 4 AM, I don't get scared easily, and just watching that trailer and a lets play episode legit scared me in a way I haven't felt in a decade.
As someone who saw this game go from Alpha to Beta to release, it's definitely worth picking up. It's already been said, but the game relies on ambiance, lore, and its dark environment to build up the horror in the players instead. It's consistent and always with you through the game rather than how horror games tend to go nowadays, with a quick "boo" and then the game immediately becomes unscary.
The survival elements were an...interesting...addition, but I think that helps add to the horror element when you're running low on resources for many different reasons.
This gets a definite thumbs up from me.
Sign me the fuck up.
This game always interested me but I never wanted to watch anything other than short clips to not spoil anything cool. Is the story linear or open world?
Barley had a good video on this game

It's both. The story is linear (at least so I assume; haven't finished it yet so I can't confirm whether it branches) but you navigate it through an open world. There is always pressure to keep moving forward as your supplies become scarce - but the dangers also increase. In such a way the game encourages you to accomplish what's necessary to move it along, pause to re-arm, heal up, re-barricade and re-fuel your safe-house and re-fit yourself, and then continue along. You start with pretty clear objectives once you get out of the tutorial, but when and how you do it is up to you and your supplies, more or less.
can't wait to play this at max brightness and rotating my character round at 30,000RPM so there is always light

Bought it and quit as soon as I broke open the door at the start :v:. Maybe i'll try it again when I get the courage.
I think I've actually had this on my steam wishlist for some time but hearing this praise I think I might buy it
