Talk about uncanny movement.
I constantly think its rolling backwards just by the stance.
They didn't show if it can go up the stairs.
They didn't show if it can go up the stairs.
With enough sensors and programming it could probably walk on those wheels as if they were feet
I want to see this taken to a skate park
holy shit that thing can pop a mean ollie
[editline]27th February 2017[/editline]
do a flip
Let's hope they don't train it with the glitchy tony hawk games
Why is boston dynamics constantly trying to find the creepiest looking killer robot?

Nothing will ever get worse than Big Dog. That horrific movement + the noise the thing makes is the stuff of nightmares.

what, you don't like a robot that has the sound of a chainsaw slowly moving towards you?
what, you don't like a robot that has the sound of a chainsaw slowly moving towards you?
You forgot to mention the chainsaw sounds like it's powered on human souls :v:
I wonder how boston dynamics gets their funding
they deserve every penny

is that the one that's powered by millions of angry bees
They really, really need to lock that fucking door. Every time they make a new robot it escapes and they never find it again.
This robot has a hoverboard built in
Amazing

DOD also used to be owned by google one time.
Can't wait to get my own D-Walker
I want one with a built-in cockpit.
I feel like their videos show almost the same thing all the time.

Them testing their robots? That's kinda the whole point man.
Nah I mean like, at first it was,
4 Legged Robot Walking.
4 Legged Robot Jogging.
4 Legged Robot recovering from being kicked over.
2 Legged Robot Walking.
2 Legged Robot Jogging.
2 Legged Robot recovering from being kicked over.
2 Legged Robot picking some heavy shit up (Which isn't that bad since obviously that shit requires balance)
2 Legged Robot picking some heavy shit up then having to pick it back up after having it knocked out of it's rubber stump hand things.
2 Legged Robot opening a door.
2 Legged Robot has it's feet replaced with wheels.
2 Wheel Legged Robot moves fast and jumps and does alot of movement shit better than I can.
The next video they'll probably be pushing it about and kicking it to see how it recovers from that too.
I mean I'm largely joking really, it is impressive technology, but it's very samey stuff.

When legs approach 0, the future is here.
Is there a Roundabout edit of that ending yet
I wonder if this is what happens when you spend years of your life grinding away on making bipedal robots work with proper legs, and eventually throw your hands up and go "fuck it, wheels are way more efficient and way easier to design, look at these sick jumps it took me half an afternoon to engineer this".

Well there's things the wheels can't really do well.
Wheels work on paved ground, but largely not on other surfaces.
Dayumn, that boy got mad ups.

go back to work kojima
I hope Boston Dynamics invests into walking eyes and spider bots because they've got some spectacularly talented individuals working for them.
