There's plenty of questionable people around South America, almost all of them gained power through coups and have close connections to the drug trade. Chavez was a decorated Soldier, staged a failed coup, spent 2 years in prison, was elected President and re-elected several times. I'm not saying it wasn't a fixed election, but most South American countries don't even try.

Also, how could you leave out Muammar al-Gaddafi? Ahmadinejad is a douchebag but Gaddafi is fucking nuts.
