Sort of. Hitler had been appointed Chancellor, but the Nazi party still didn't have a majority in Parliament. Nevertheless, he was able to pass the Enabling through the Reichstag essentially making him a dictator. At least as far as I understand. The opposition parties couldn't agree with one another so they couldn't take on the Nazi party.

Yeah the other strongest party was the Communist Party iirc. But the Communist Party's armed thugs were killed by the Nazi Party's armed thugs.
