I'm getting a Titanfall-esque vibe from this, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'm a little wary. I also wish the character customization was a little more in-depth, like additions to your armor. But all in all, doesn't look too shabby.
Not gonna lie those emotes are... dumb.
kind of boring customization , no armour mods at all. Some of the emotes are really fun, give me another republic commando!
I'm surprised the Shock Trooper paint wasn't there for the Imperials
They want $110 for this and the season pass? :why:
why would you ever use emotes in this game you'd probably die unless you just sit at the spawn and use it
why would you ever use emotes in this game you'd probably die unless you just sit at the spawn and use it
I watched someone streaming it and a guy used the beckon emote right before like 10 of them assaulted one control point which looked pretty cool. Honestly though you'll probably just see people using them right before the end of a round or with in a corner with friends and just doing the robot in a circle or something.
Remember guys a games longevity is entirely based on customization and progression, that's why nobody plays CSGO anymore... Really though, while I'm a bit worried about the mechanics, I'm not bothered all this stuff is relatively light and missing some stuff.
why would you ever use emotes in this game you'd probably die unless you just sit at the spawn and use it
You mean just like tf2? :v:
You mean just like tf2? :v:
TF2's a little bit more slow paced I'd argue. You're more likely to find spots where you're completely safe from enemies but still somewhat close to the line. At least TF2 doesn't use emotes as an excuse for a small amount of actual content.

Stormtroopers without helmets is the dumbest thing they could have possibly done with customization.
I'm surprised the Shock Trooper paint wasn't there for the Imperials
It's because you can play Shocktroopers in-game probably. Wouldn't want to get them mixed up.
Sounds like you're complaining for the sake of disliking this game imo.
Because I think emotes are kinda dumb in a fast-paced shooter? I wouldn't like emotes in Battlefield or CoD either, even in TF2 they're kinda stupid. Difference between Battlefront and the games I mentioned is that those games have far more tangible content to make character customization and emotes a throwaway feature as opposed to a back-of-the-box advertised one. I always saw character customization in multiplayer shooters to be a way for F2P games to make some extra bucks. Putting them in retail games always felt tacked on and a waste of time. Only good example I can think of is the custom emblems in BLOPs 1 since those really popped out and were noticeable.
Not really happy about the lack of variety with the aliens, mostly Zabrak, Rodian and Twi'lek. I wish there were more armor types for ST. I like the look of the weapons but there doesn't seem to be that many of them.

If anything it feels fucking odd that alien races(and races in general) are locked behind such a high level rank. like if you were trying to be anything but a regular white dude, you need to be invested in this for so long you'll probably lose interest by the time you reach the level cap needed. i'd make more sense to put races witha basic template and have the customization change the details such as haircuts, armor modifications or stuff like that. also those emotes feel rather odd for a game where your lifespan is intended to be really short
God forbid they add something to make the game a little more silly.
I don't even mean thematically, I just mean they're kind of useless. They go through all the trouble of making them for something that's so throwaway and unnoticeable.
any reviews out?
that's why nobody plays CSGO anymore...
???????????????
EA/DICE found the perfect money grab by reviving the dead and rotting corpse of Battlefront, to coincide with the release of the new Star Wars movie. Doesn't even need to be good, so long as it has the words "Star Wars" people are going to buy it up day one, and will be more than happy to burn a second and larger hole in their wallet for the DLC that will follow shortly. Also got your title fixed.
Great all the stuff I want (cool alien dudes for rebels and the scout trooper) are locked past level 40. Nice. Don't think I'll buy this since I'll just grind my way to the top, get what I want, and then stop playing after 30 mins after that since the game will be stale by then.
???????????????
It was a sarcastic remark.
TF2's a little bit more slow paced I'd argue. This game could be really worth it if they at least gave some free maps/content and didnt put it all behind a paywall. For every DLC, why not give 1 map, or piece of it for free? 1 Map+mode its from for every piece of DLC. That would be 4 free maps, and 4 free modes, but only having access to 1 part of each. Give people a taste of the DLC and they would probably be more keen on buying it and the game entirely.
I like that you can run around as a stormtrooper without a helmet. Though, there should have been a Temuera Morrison head included.
Those emotes are really stiff. Arms, shoulders, legs, and neck move but the entire torso doesn't move from waist to neck.
