Well, that trailer showed basically nothing besides the outsider. Hopefully we get more information tonight at the Bethesda conference.
Dishonored 1 was amazing yes, but it was much like Assassins Creed 1. It was just a taste of things to come.
Unless I'm wrong and the devs are a bunch of idiots who haven't actually added anything more than 2 cool abilities for some reason. 99% sure they won't do that. We're going to see something big. Prepare your anus for the mother-load of assassination games.

You get to play as Emily or Corvo. Emily has a totally different set of powers.
Also Corvo is voiced by the guy who voiced Garrett in Thief 1-3.

Here Here! Dishonored was a grand game, and I fully trust Arkane Studios to make another quality game.
Though personally I wish we could have a game set in the world of Dishonored that wasn't a stealth game. Perhaps more a swashbuckling adventure!
I loved Dishonored, the setting, the art syle, the lore, everything was great. I want so many more games set in its universe.

Well Stephan Russel basically voiced alot of Beth things these days, so no shocker there.
Especially with a studio that's known for a popular stealth game, as well as being made up of former Theif devs.
[editline]12th June 2016[/editline]
Though I snicker at the thought of Corvo sounding like Nick Valentine from Fallout 4.
This is pretty much the only game I've been excited for this year. Can't wait for the full reveal.

It was not even nearly like AC1. AC1 didn't satisfy the hype and was very boring to play. There wasn't enough variety in gameplay.

it could also be compared to portal 1
I meant in that it's just a taste of what the sequal may/will be
portal 2, ac2 were far more grander examples of what the previous games were. You may even be able to compare it to Arena and then Daggerfall hopefully, though that's a bit more extremely.
Oh god my dick can't contain itself. This looks so awesome, and the woman looks to be a part of the Brigmore Witches coven, or at least is dressed similarly. Unf
Please please oh god please don't punish us for actually using all of the tools and weapons they give us to kill dudes this time.
I always got such mixed signals from the first game because of that, they give you a cool combat system and all of these hilariously evil ways to off people but then punish you for having fun.

I'd almost forgotten about that level...

It's just a different ending, it's not a punishment. Don't let it get in the way of playing the game the way you want to.

The only real "punishment" was that upgrading gear itself was a bit harder. You could still get all the powers you wanted and bone charms you needed without killing dudes. You just had to be more picky with the gear upgrades.
Not that it stopped you from upgrading absolutely everything anyway. Shame there wasn't more non-lethal gear around really. The crossbow darts were the only weapon you had. Otherwise it was melee choke or outright avoid guys.
Been waiting on this game ever since Dishonored 1 was released, I'll finally be satisfied!

Gosh I hope they don't pander to you as the target audience
How dare their game actually have a story your actions can impact, right?
The game is about letting the player either be a noble force of revolution trying to save his daughter and country from corruption, or else instead be a cold psychopath out for revenge. If you're upset that there's a cool story involvement actually acknowledging your actions, you fundamentally misunderstood the point of the game.

It's not a different ending, it's the bad ending. There's a very big difference there
It's not a different ending, it's the bad ending. There's a very big difference there
No it's not? Is there a "you got the bad end?", no. You get a High Chaos ending where the Outsider notes that Emily retakes the throne by force and it's not a very nice place to live, she was raised in an environment that you as Corvo fostered and pushed. As Dunwall slides into chaos, do you help it along or do you prove that honour and integrity still matter?
Unless you're sending a sister away to be held captive and raped, but that's the only time I'd argue that killing them was better than subduing them.

[sp]Emily either becomes a dictator or dies. That's a bad ending. There's no logical reason for Emily to become a dictator because of Corvo's actions, that's stupid[/sp]
It's not a different ending, it's the bad ending. There's a very big difference there
You can still get the good ending by killing people, you just can't go on mad rampages like a blood thirsty maniac.
It's not a different ending, it's the bad ending. There's a very big difference there
But "bad" endings are fine, especially in a grim game like Dishonored. And you can still succeed in your goal to rescue Emily so it's not like the game just shits on your accomplishments.
I mean in games like Deus Ex HR or Spec Ops: The Line there are straight up [sp]suicide[/sp] endings yet people still pick them because they fit the tone and narrative of the game well. Hell there are games that have only one ending and it's not a happy one.
I'm hoping as well.
I wanna see the Outsider story/character used more rather then just a narrative and a basically a riddle master.
If you read some of the books from the first game, especially one in the dlc you get some heavy hints about what the outsider is and what he probably wants. Quite a cool and exciting plot element that puts things into a wider context.

I think you need to rewatch the endings.

I guess I should replay the game, I've beat it only once anyway

[sp]I've never had Emily die and I've played through the game at least six times.[/sp]
And it's not. The Outsider tells you time and time again that Dunwall is at a tipping point and that your actions will have consequences. If you grease Dunwalls descent into chaos with fresh blood then of course it'll influence Emily. You don't have to sit her down and tell her how she'll be Empress. While you're out doing missions, everyone back at the Bar is swapping stories about the exploits of Corvo and Emily is listening to what her father figure (real father) is doing, and you're her role model, she loves and adores you and clings to you, moreso after the death of her mother. It's really not that hard.
EDIT: Just looked it up, I had no idea there was a third ending, holy shit.

There's more variants to the ending; if you kill sokolov and pierro the plague won't be cured
I don't want to see the idea of killing people = bad consequences go away, but at the same time they really need to offer more non-lethal tools to the player. The problem was that all the cool shit was locked away behind a murder wall and if you wanted to use that cool shit you were setting yourself up for a worse ending.

Boy you took gave offense to this. I'm all for story in a game and playing the good guy, in fact I did a completely nonlethal stealth run the whole game. I just want to go apeshit with the fun weapons and mechanics without being guilt tripped and called a piece of shit for doing so.
No need to get so uptight over this. Christ
Edit:
To add to this further if they gave us more nonlethal options I'd be fine with it, Corvo's sword is only single edged, let us turn it around and use it to bludgeon enemies into unconsciousness. Give us a power to knock dudes out or put them to sleep. It was pretty much avoid combat, choke dudes out or use tranq darts.
That being said I loved the creative nonlethal take downs for assassination targets
