So Rich, do you Recomend Mass Effect Andromeda.
My thoughts exactly. Rich nailed it [sp]Honestly, why would I give this a chance after DA2, DAI, TOR, and ME3? Nothing I've seen shows this is any good. But hey! Multiplayer is fun and Mass Effect is a series known for its multiplayer![/sp]
Rich said everything everyone was feeling about Andromeda and the Mass Effect series in general.
why do people keep pushing the "but the gameplay and environments" when mass effect was known for its atmosphere, writing (to various degrees) and worldbuilding. like, okay yes great gameplay and pretty visuals is a big bonus, but im here to play mass effect, not SortofMass-but-little-Effect. its a shame i wont be getting that, and instead i'll get a D-list version of what couldve been.
rich nailed it perfectly
This is borderline experimental.
i honestly expected mike and jay to replace rich and jack and try to talk about a videogame like it was a movie for 30 minutes but this is probably a better outcome
here's one weird trick you can get sick from this, click about 3 mins in then skip to 4 mins in, then click back and fourth.
But hey! Multiplayer is fun and Mass Effect is a series known for its multiplayer!
I've been enjoying it personally. I have over 40 hours played but a good 35 of those is multiplayer. It has it's problems relative to ME3 but it's coop didn't have a perfect launch either. Honestly from what I've played of the SP I'm not too impressed. I'm working through my singleplayer RPG backlog right now so maybe that's why (it's directly competing with Skyrim and DA:I) but it just doesn't *feel* like a Mass Effect game to me. It feels like a straight to DVD sequel.
*Fanfiction Effect
this shit is art
On the contrary I'm 40 hours in of almost exclusively SP and I'm enjoying it a lot. The game has a bit of a slow start but I'm having a lot of fun getting to know the crew and exploring and completing this planets and settlements. And Liam's loyalty mission is hilarious.
Yeah I'll admit, I'm having more fun with the full game than I expected to after finishing the trial. It's a shame that the game makes a pretty underwhelming first impression because it does get better. I don't know if I'd say it ever gets great, but it's good enough that I can safely say I'm enjoying my time with it. It's certainly not the greatest gaming disaster of the decade like everyone wants to pretend it is.
i honestly expected mike and jay to replace rich and jack and try to talk about a videogame like it was a movie for 30 minutes but this is probably a better outcome
The plot of ME:A alone would've made a good BotW episode.
I wonder what Mr Plinkett thinks of Andromeda
The plot of ME:A alone would've made a good BotW episode.
for a second i thought there was a breath of the wild TV show
I wonder what Mr Plinkett thinks of Andromeda
lets be real here. if mike gave a crap about video games, a plinkett series on them would've been terrific.
Protip: To enjoy the Mass Effect series, one must not play for the decisions. None of the games are going to cater to your unique choices so just forget it. Play the game, explore the worlds, kill the things. But don't expect the end to be worth the build up. If Mass Effect has taught me anything, it's they can't do multiple endings.

Damn near everyone could die in ME2; hell, you could literally fail that game if you tried hard enough. Even ME3 did an admirable job in respect to the outcome of the Genophage and Quarian/Geth War plot arcs. Yeah, most of the outcome was more affecting on an emotional level than a practical one, but it was still based heavily in prior decisions.
A video of Rich who hasn't played the game slowly cutting it into pieces with a pair of dikes for hollow reasons presented by other people? Yep. Quality content. Showstopper shit, right there. I like Rich Evans but this is just plain lazy. The vast majority of people bitching haven't even tried to play the damn game. Yeah, I get it, ironic humor. But seriously, I feel like it's a lazy attempt to jump on the "I HATE THIS" bandwagon. From what I've heard of those who've ACTUALLY played it through, it's not as bad as people are making it out to be - they just love to exaggerate for those sweet, sweet ratings and ad revenue. People bitch about a company trying to make money while pumping out mediocre content, but these videos are just as bad for the same reasons. Old, recycled, lame-ass content.
People defending ME:A keep saying this and idk does it have a basis in truth? Honestly curious. Did Rich say he hadn't played it? Wait, have you not played it yourself?

Rich himself said that he was done with the Mass Effect universe after seeing ME3's ending and anyone who would send a copy of Andromeda to him he was going to destroy it. So really, this was expected.

Old, recycled, lame-ass content.
That's the whole problem. The best things people are saying about it are that it's not that bad, same with Dragon Age Inquisition. Mass Effect didn't get the following and reviews it did because it wasn't that bad, it was a great series that people loved. This series already ended for me with a disappointment at 3. Why would I waste time and money on an experience that's "not as bad as people make it out to be." Nothing I've seen or heard about ME:A makes it seem like something that has what I loved about the original trilogy. It's a step down in every department except gameplay and the graphics of the environment
half of the people who ive spoken to who have said "but it's a great game actually" have also never played the previous mass effect games so i hate to say it bud but i think you're kind of specifically a little bit wrong unfortunately
The only person I know who is playing it is the person who got me into the series and he also loves No Man's Sky so that's just another reason why I'm not interested

I'm actually waiting for a sale on ME:A mainly because I think the game isn't worth buying at full price.
He repeatedly said on stream if you give him a physical copy, don't because he'll destroy it.

That's why Rich is so hollow in the video, he doesn't care about Mass Effect because it died to him. It's a dead series kept up on strings by EA and puppeted by the Canadian hate ghost of Bioware. As Dr. C mentioned earlier, this is not and should not be a series that is judged by other games released by Bioware. That's a disgusting practice that honestly keeps people blind to just how shitty or good the game actually is. Don't compare Andromeda to Inquisition, compare it to Nier: Automata or Witcher 3.
