yeah but its cold [img]http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-colbert.gif[/img] [editline]s[/editline] Just took a cold shower because of this video. Surprisingly, it was damn cold, so I turned it off. Nice job, coldies.
Cold showers are amazing, I let it get really cold, then when you step into it, it feels like you just plunged into an ice cold pond and it takes your breath away. Feels amazing, my heart always gets racing

I actually fell asleep in the shower once. The warm water was so comfortable.
Sigh. Well -- I guess it's time for cold showers, huh.
[QUOTE=salty peanut v2;45540603]but being freezing sucks[/QUOTE] Being tired, groggy and feeling like shit in the morning sucks even more
The only thing I hate about showers is how cold you get AFTER you exit the shower. You think it's cold leaving a hot shower? try a cold shower.
I enjoy both warm and cold showers for keeping my dry skin healthy. But I'd love to try that Finish thing with the sweat lodge and ice hole. [editline]30th July 2014[/editline] Also, the whole script is formatted like a high school essay :v:
It helps with an energy boost, but also helps you go to sleep? It helps with circulation, but being cold shunts blood back to the core. Which one is it science, gosh Though with that circulation one, I guess constricted vessels helps raise B/P and doesn't let blood 'pool' in extremities, allowing stricter flow. Nice to know though. Also, jumping from hot tub to a pool and back again does feel nice, used to do that shit a lot as a kid
been taking cold showers immediately after working out for over a year now and when i don't have time to do it i can tell a huge difference in my energy levels, recovery, and just comfort. cold showers are godlike. all you need to do is just cycle back and forth between warm / cold water 30-60 seconds at a time until you're done your shower, not just sit in a cold shower the entire time. helps cool me off after the gym, helps me recover faster and not be as sore or tired, boosts test, etc. etc. it's worth it in every way.
Looks like it's a cold shower for me tomorrow morning.

If you take it when you first wake up, it helps you wake up much better than a warm shower in the morning does. If you take one before you go to sleep, i find it helps calm my body after a long day and cools me off so when i hop in bed i'm not overheating and rolling around for 2 hours. Constricting bloodflow to an extent forces your heart to work harder to move blood around so when it goes back to normal it'll be easier on your heart to move it around.
just took a cold shower myself it's actually refreshing, up until then I had a lethargic evening

What I've tried a couple times is starting with a warm shower and then doing a couple minutes of really cold to finish. It didn't give an energy boost so much as an adrenaline rush, and it definitely made me feel more tired by the time I exited the bathroom.
I've been slowly transitioning to cold showers. I sometimes start the shower with a little heat and make it colder (rather than hotter like usual) the longer I'm there. But after hot showers, I do run cold water to cool myself down so I'm not spending the next hour sweating.
So does it help you sleep or does it give you an energy boost? Nvm, someone answered it.

You can also switch between hot and cold water for the same effect. Over time it gets easier for your body to circulate from one spot to another. I disagree with helping you go to sleep though. Your body will respond to the cold temperature and in turn promote a warmer body temperature. Getting a hot shower or bath will cause your body to respond to the hot temperature, and promote a cooler body temperature, our body also promotes a cooler body temperature for sleep, so a hot shower or bath will do just that and also beneficially relax you.
I've been taking cold showers almost my entire life. It feels great to beat the heat and I feel great when I'm done.
Going to try this out tommorow
I usually take cold showers on hot days, after bike rides or after swim meets. To me, it's the difference between getting in an 88 degree temperature-controlled community pool and the freezing 56-degree waters of the ocean - the ocean is far more refreshing. It's the same thing, cold showers are more refreshing than hot ones.
Start them warm, then slowly cooling the shower off feels great.
I just took a cold shower. Started warm, then a complete cold shower towards the end. It feels great...
It's summer outside and I'm taking warm/hot showers, what am I doing. I'll go do a cold shower in the morning.
I have learned to take the colder side of lukewarm showers. But nothing feels as good as coming home from a day of sweating in 80-90° weather, and taking a cold shower.
I rather do the reverse boiling frog technique. I take a warm shower at first where I clean everything, and then gradually decrease the temperature of the water till it is at its coldest.
I'm going to take one right now, I will keep everyone updated. [editline]30th July 2014[/editline] It felt refreshing, and girlfriend says she can feel the fishies swimming in her.
I've heard that taking a cold shower after taking a hot shower will close your pores and somehow help your hair. It actually feels really nice.
