You're busting my balls, CA. I don't want to spend more money on Attila but holy fuck the Carolingian Period is one of my favorites.
Charlie's Mangels
So the speculation was right, nice!
War Weariness The sign of a great true king is in knowing how far your people can be pushed. Wars are significant and dramatic events between kingdoms, and should not be undertaken lightly. The fewer wars you wage the better your people will respond, as frequent and drawn out conflict will rapidly damage morale and your armies’ integrity. A shrewd ruler will seek to bring peace quickly and decisively.
Unique Kingdom and Story Events Each playable faction has a unique set of challenging ‘Kingdom’ requirements to meet for the dedicated and shrewd player. Once achieved, you will be able to declare a new Kingdom name for your faction, reflecting or altering history in your wake. In addition, each faction will receive tailored narrative Story Events, offering you distinct challenges and dilemmas as your Campaign unfolds. Historically-inspired, some choices will lead you further to that faction’s original destiny, or you may choose to carve a new path of your own.
those features sound promising as well.
Oh holy shit you can name your kingdom? Oh goddamn fucking finally.
"Imperial State of Faggotry and Debauchery" here we go
Godammit, I promised to never buy another game from CA because of their Warhammer pre-order bullshit but I want this more than anything.

How the fuck will they handle the Abbasid Caliphate??

We'll have to see when the map is revealed. They may only have the Umayyads/Aghlabids and won't go far east/south enough to make the Abbasids relevant

Looks like it ends at the Vistula and only goes as far south as Sicily
Damn this is exciting! I've been put off of total war for awhile now but it's good to see some potentially awesome DLC again.
I pre-ordered Rome II, saw Attila for free but realized that it was a weekend thing. I really need to go back to Total War.
Too bad Christopher Lee is gone, he'd be perfect to play his apparent ancestor.
Hopefully this will redeem absolute awfulness that was Attila. I played it for a week when it first came out and haven't touched it since, the whole game is just trying to not fuck up for hours at a time.
Imagine this game including the middle-east and the possible rise of Mohammed.
A man can dream. Would be fun but the PC crowd would never allow it.
You wanna know what my main gripe with this is?
That they're calling him Charlemagne before he's crowned emperor

What was wrong with Attila? (I've never played it)
What was wrong with Attila? (I've never played it)
Too many bullshit mechanics, if you play certain factions it is extremely, excessively difficult to try and expand, even playing a horde isn't that fun or accessible. Some stuff like certain units, techs, buildings are way too expensive or complicated to comfortably try and get. The game seems to run like absolute garbage on high settings even on a high end PC while not at all justifying it with particularly impressive graphics, the whole problem where fighting looks janky and boring still remains, and about half the factions in the game, from the Franks to the Vandals to the Ostrogoths, all use the same Germannic roster base

Shame, doesn't include the Balkans or North Africa. Oh well
"It wasn't god, it wasn't the people..." He's gonna say 'it was you' I just know it
"it was. you"... Thought so.

Well it is a Charlemange DLC be glad it has Iberia and the British Isles
Seeing the shrine scene in the trailer, it made me realise: I'd really love a feature added where you can construct shrines for fallen Generals. I'd really enjoy that, especially if you could decorate it.
Depending on how rich your nation is, you could deck him out in Gold, or something cheap like Iron. Engrave his sword and encrust it with jewels, or just leave it bland. I really do end up getting attached to certain Generals who have been at the frontlines for years and conquered lands for my nation.
Umayyads or bust.

I'm just going to wait for the reviews on this one.
Attila was pretty "eeehhhh" so I didn't buy it, maybe this will help it or something.
"Charlemagne: I'm everybody's daddy"
[sp]somebody will get it[/sp]
