I can't help but agree with rich about the AAA games industry. It's been so long since I actually felt excited about a game that was coming out, now when I see game reveals I just know they'll find some way to ruin it, usually by stuffing it with shit like microtransactions, or they'll dumb it down to the point where there's no real game left.
The AAA industry is a shitpile, end of story.
Also in complete agreement on AAA titles. With the exception of Prey and Wolfenstein II, It's been at least 5 or so years since I was really stoked for anything big budget. And now with the fiasco of microtransactions and general corporate douchebaggery, the gaming landscape has changed for the worse.
Not to say it can't recover further down the road. But as it is now whenever I hear the term "gamer" or "video games" in general, thoughts of loot boxes, underhanded tactics towards consumers and generally bad design and business decisions conjure up in my head. Granted there are some good ones out there but the ratio feels like its 1 gem for every 10 turds. And thats a lot of money wasted.
As for Survive itself, it's a damn shame that a nice, new engine like Fox is used for a sub-par zombie mod-style game. Even with that "nugget" that Rich mentions its still a monumental waste.
And there it is. Hate it or like it, you have to admit from a technical stand point Metal Gear Survive is a stop backwards from Metal Gear Solid V.
I'd agree with them on the AAA statement if they were consistent throughout the video. You can't say something like "fuck AAA and their microtransactions, right?" and then five minutes later say "but boy Bethesda and [del]Activision[/del]Blizzard are the good ones!"

They were talking about Bethesda the publisher and not the developer
