I'm more impressed with the figure skating like fuck man how do they do that shit
The Japanese has been holding out on us with their back-then super cameras!
Uh you guys do know that film when converted to digital isn't 256x256.
What really jumped out at me is the fact that not a single person in the audience has their phone out. Not that I really expected anybody to have a phone out, but it's just crazy to me how much things have changed in the last 19 years.

The clothes they're wearing is the only thing that gives it away.
Those high up waistlines. I certainly don't miss when people wore their pants around their belly buttons.

Count all the ugly sweaters.
I get pessimistic when I watch really old videos. See this lady? She's probably gone now. :(
I get pessimistic when I watch really old videos.
I don't. People die every second of every day.
I love watching old re-rendered film. I'm glad we didn't switch to digital forms of recording until recently. Film is seriously the only way to go until you have mastered digital.
My friend works for Showtime and a lot of stuff that airs on that network is actually originally recorded on film. High-quality film converted to digital can be much higher resolution than 1080p. I'm sure it was doable back then with analog.

Let's see how many cheesy sweaters we can count...
We have mastered digital. http://vimeo.com/71666317
That camera is $31,000.00. That's worth more than both my cars.
Is it just me or did anyone else think this guy looks just like Sheldon? I'm liking Mr. America. Lol.
I found out a long time ago that HD resolutions were possible back then, but I've never found out why it took so long for it catch on sort of speak. HD has only been widespread and mainstream since what, 2005-2006? But it could have been available years before, yes? Perhaps it was the same thing we have now with 4K/8K. While those resolutions have been achieved and first demoed probably 3-4 years ago, there has yet to of been a economical way of producing a 4K/8K TV worthy of mass production.
HD TV broadcasts only began in 2008/9.
Are you counting only 1080i res? Because I'm almost certain I recall 720p broadcast from 2006, maybe even earlier. I mean I got my first HDTV is 2007 and didn't have to wait for cable to start broadcasting HD.
At four minutes in she does a mother fucking backflip yo

My Dad used his old CRT standard-def TV from the day my mom and dad moved into our house until it finally crapped out about a month ago. That's the only reason we even got a high-def TV.
At four minutes in she does a mother fucking backflip yo
Those are actually illegal in actual competition due to danger. They were broadcasting the exhibition part so they're allowed to do silly/dangerous things (like that MURICA guy who is actually french)
Well back then cellphones was like a brick.
Texting on a phone wasn't even viable really until the physical keypads were attached to them, starting at around 2002 or 2003ish. So before then, people actually used their cell phones to TALK. Now days that's the last thing you do with your cell phone

Don't believe me? Place a call on a cell phone conventionally, and then make another call on Skype and you can hear the difference.
