crazy how nature do that.
Large breed dogs, especially of breeds known for their intelligence can develop some pretty unusual food related habits. My dads shepherd will, if given leftovers from dinner with rice in it, will sort out all of the rice and leave them in a neat pile next to an otherwise empty food bowl.
Dogs are amazing creatures. :excited:

Ohh it's a Malamute. That explains why it's so large.
I just thought he was a really fat husky lol.
Adorable though.

And the mood is spoiled.
Just don't give them Ben & Jerry's or any other ice cream brand that uses that chemical thing found in the skin of grapes that works like antifreeze, µg's of that can kill even a large dog IIRC.
Aren't all dogs descended from wolves?
the alaskan marmaduke lived alongside the dinosaurs and were the natural predators of the scaled ancestors of the modern arctic ice cream

can you commit to at least 1 hour of exercise a day, are you prepared for everything to be covered in hair, are you ready to replace things that get destroyed, can you afford 2-3k in vet bills in emergencies (or can you afford pet insurance?), and are you aware of updated training techniques that are damn near vital with less biddable breeds like mals/huskies?
as someone that owns a husky (a big ol dingus) its easy to think these dogs are pretty and forget just how much work they are. just today my dog destroyed the fourth pair of sheets I've gone through in a year :V

as for malamutes 1 hour of exercise is something you do only when you absolutely can't do anything more. on a normal day you do two long walks or one really long one. you can replace one walk with a blood trail or other intensive brain work and if you do sledding you can have a rest day after a 10-30km trip.

while living with them in the city or suburbs is possible (i've done it) you need access to woods or somewhere where you can take long walks (asphalt is no good, it's really bad for paws and joints).
