Is it a standard procedure to use laughing gas in America? Everyone I know, including myself, get local anaesthesia.

Yeah, my experiences have been like this:
*Injected with some numbing agent*
"Does it still hurt?"
"A bit, yeah."
"Well, tough shit."
*Operation carries on*
And the stuff properly kicked in like right after the operation, numbing my mouth completely making me a fully coherent, drooling idiot. :v:

Then you try to take a drink of water but end up dribbling it everywhere :(
Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed I didn't do anything of interest when I got my wisdom teeth taken out. I just slept. :v:
My favorite, even if it's just a reading of a story.

Pretty sure all these people are just exaggerating in these videos. I've never actually met anyone who got high from a wisdom tooth removal.

Not that I know of. I got local anaesthesia. I assume its a local thing in different parts of the states.

My father, to my knowledge, has never taken anaesthesia for his operations. Including his recent and final wisdom tooth removing.

I had mine taken out about 2 months ago. They had to cut gum, drill bone, then pull them out. They gave me the IV sedation and I just remember her asking me if I had an escort home, and then I was home and had been home for a while. There's no fucking telling what I said in that 2 hours I don't remember
Get IV sedation. If they don't do it where you're getting your major dental operation, go somewhere else. It was worth the extra $500. And my surgeon must be God himself because even though all that was done to me, the most pain I was in at any time was when the needle went in me for the IV, and it was like a mosquito bite. I still have all my hydrocodones because I just didn't need them.

Its not; I sat for a half hour talking away about dolphins and space sun people.
i remember clearly when i had mine taken out they asked me "here get in the wheel chair and we'll wheel you out" and i said "no no i'm fine" stood up and immediately fell over
Its funny as fuck but I can't help but wonder and worry what sort of shit would come out if I was drugged up like that.
when i got my wisdom teeth pulled i puked blood

i think the laughing gas affected me wrong
Mine was boring, I just woke up, got help getting in my parents' car, and immediately complained for 2 weeks straight about pain

Nah, I got drugged once because I broke my arm in a nasty way. My parents told me I was screaming "thank you doctors" all over the hospital, waved my arm around saying "it's straight again, no fucking waaaay" and probably much more. What a trip

Yeah, I got IV sedation as well since they took all four of mine out at once. That was the only remotely interesting thing my mom and grandma remember about me afterwards: I was constantly rubbing the bandage on my wrist.
My friend had a 2 hour snapchat story that she wasn't even aware of. It mainly involved her talking about going to Florida and going crocodile hunting.
How the hell do people enjoy themselves like this after their wisdoms are removed? All I ever got to concentrate on afterward was biting down on bandaging in my mouth so the empty sockets could pool blood and close up
When I came out of the laughing gas, I was chipper and happy with the experience.
My brother was saying "Fuck" a lot out of his way of the dentist's office. There was a little kid there.
I was so impressed at how seamless and pleasant they made the removal of five teeth at once, immediately I was so overjoyed and kept trying to tell everyone how great it was lol.

Why pay $500 extra when you don't even feel pain from local anesthesia?

Some people don't want to be awake for it.
I'm a pretty tough person when it comes to pain but there is just something that gives me a horrible amount of anxiety when I go for dental procedures. The only way I would have my teeth removed or cut out is if I was completely under.
My wisdom tooth removals were very easy and I didn't have to take any painkillers afterward. Probably got lucky.
Yeah, sometimes I feel cheated, but my experience was a total nonevent.
Got knocked out in seconds by an IV, woke up afterward what felt like moments later, woozy, but utterly lucid. Removed five teeth too.
Could barely keep balance to walk, but nothing fiddly or hilarious about my speech. Spent the next few days eating ice-cream and such, wandering the house in pajamas. Everyone was shocked to see me so casually wandering around, like I had some freaky pain-threshold, but the surgeons just did a REALLY good job, from what I can tell.
Honestly this all just really makes me want to get my wisdom teeth removed. I've been avoiding it for a while but the reactions to the meds are too funny xD
when i got my wisdom teeth removed i woke up feeling only a little woozy. didn't need to take painkillers but did because i was interested in what opiates felt like (wasn't that impressed). still wonder if going into the procedure with the afterglow of the previous night's usage of an anesthetic analogue had any effect on it.

This.
I just had it injected into my gums and then all I could feel was the teeth being pulled out without any pain.
My wisdom teeth fit in my mouth and i've never had to get them taken out, i guess i'm just lucky.

It always blows my mind to read these prices.
In Sweden the laughing gas is roughly $90
When I pulled my wisdom teeth I started to hit on the dentist afterwards.
"Oh it was a pleasure to have you inside my mouth" hugging her and shit.
like what the fuck
