I'm kicking myself for not realizing until halfway into the video that this is actually Slowbeef. That DSP impression is just so fucking good.
Maybe it's just me but I didn't think this impression was funny the first time I heard it, and I don't think it's funny now. Maybe it's the scary accuracy.
I thought his imitation of DSP's laugh was pretty funny
Thanks Kojima.
I thought his imitation of DSP's laugh was pretty funny
Sounds like a clown.
ah ah ah ah ah ah
that fucking laugh impression is the best
Oh god, that laugh impression scares the shit out of me.
Maybe it's just me but I didn't think this impression was funny the first time I heard it, and I don't think it's funny now. Maybe it's the scary accuracy.
DSP is generally hard to parody, based on how parody works on a fundamental level, and on how he actually acts. Parody is typically in itself a self-aware, comedically exaggerated portrayal of a real person, event or etc. The humor of a parody comes from not only acknowledgement of a person, place or work's flaws, but also from blowing these problems out of proportion so heavily that the self-aware representation becomes funny. DSP is so over-the-top awful that attempting to parody him is very hard to do well and to do in a way that's funny. He already not only has massive, glaring flaws, but he himself unknowingly makes them so exaggeratedly terrible that the only thing which separates him and his actions from true parody is self-awareness. If Phil were to suddenly realise that he is a whining manchild who refuses to believe he is flawed, and then used that awareness to his advantage by intentionally acting in such a manner, he'd actually be a parody himself. However, that lack of awareness makes all of his actions genuine, thus sucking out all but the most resilient vestiges of comedy from his work. Merely repeating Phil's exact nature doesn't suddenly make it comedic, you have to find some way to exaggerate it further while showing awareness of the level of idiocy present. DasBoSchitt's videos which parody Phil do this sort of thing well, by adding in additional characters that play off of the comedic representation of Phil in both straight (reacting like normal/exaggerated sane people to the stupidity) and skewed (not reacting at all/acting as if it's normal) ways. DBS also finds ways to make Phil's behavior even more stupid than in reality, usually through situations, locations and events that play off of and heighten Phil's idiocy much like the characters. Basically, if you want to make a funny parody of Phil, you have to crank the exaggeration of him to 11 and/or give "Phil" some straight men in the form of situations and people. He's so unbelievably close to being an actual parody that normal parody isn't strong enough to make humor out of his behavior and actions. This is why Slowbeef's imitation isn't that funny, all it does is add self-awareness and a rare few extra "normal" situations to the original characterization. It just doesn't take things far enough for it to loop back into actual humor. You really have to go over-the-top if you want to take someone who's already extremely exaggerated and make them further exaggerated for comedy. [editline]dear god[/editline] Also, on an unsettling note, Phil looks frighteningly similar to how my father looked in his 30s. If it weren't for age and name difference, I'd actually be terrified to think that I shared more than an average amount of genetic code with this tool of a human being.
did did DSP see Slowbeef doing an impression of him and think that Slowbeef was actually restreaming him like DSP thought Slowbeef's impression of him was actually him oh my god
To be honest, the voice isn't that similar. Everything else is :v:
did did DSP see Slowbeef doing an impression of him and think that Slowbeef was actually restreaming him like DSP thought Slowbeef's impression of him was actually him oh my god
We have to keep mind who it is we're talking about here, such absurdities are not impossible.
it took me forever to realize its slowbeef trying to make fun of DSP DSP is so bad that he literally breaks poes law, in fact, he's so shitty, he can't even tell if a parody is himself or a parody,
We have to keep mind who it is we're talking about here, such absurdities are not impossible.
As I said the last time I posted about him: at this point it is more logical to assume his diet consists entirely of liquids than it is to assume he is capable of chewing solid food. That being said, he was probably just exaggerating what Slowbeef did (showing the youtube video of DSP) to gain more attention.
Not gonna lie, up until this stream, I had no idea that the DSP caricature from "The Future of Machinima" was a parody of him, rather than a parody of LPs in general. Gotta say, I completely understand why people are annoyed as fuck about him.
I'm surprised about your reactions, I had no trouble recognizing slowbeef but his laugh was spot on.
I'm surprised about your reactions, I had no trouble recognizing slowbeef but his laugh was spot on.
Slowbeef's voice is pretty recognizable.
did did DSP see Slowbeef doing an impression of him and think that Slowbeef was actually restreaming him like DSP thought Slowbeef's impression of him was actually him oh my god
He was probably just really mad about it. I mean last time Retsupurae did a video directly on his content (so on that mgs2 video) he flagged it for deletion.
my ears are just dead now from that laugh, rip
That laugh is the scariest thing I've heard in awhile.
Holy shit, this KWO channel looks like a goldmine. Wish I had found this earlier.
Holy shit, this KWO channel looks like a goldmine. Wish I had found this earlier.
Welcome to the order, its actually a global conspiracy to hate on Phil, its bigger than the Illuminati. I mean that's the only reason and it isn't just pointing out DSP's flaws right?
Welcome to the order, its actually a global conspiracy to hate on Phil, its bigger than the Illuminati. I mean that's the only reason and it isn't just pointing out DSP's flaws right?
Well I mean we do personally hate him and want more views and attention on our youtube channels and are jealous of him and aren't as successful as he is and live in our mom's basement eating doritos and chugging fanta and want him to stop making videos and we also cheat and aren't honorable players
Slowbeef is arguably the best thing that has happened to the Internet.
DSP will never cease to amaze me with how much of an overall shitty human being he is. Every time i feel bad about the videos I've uploaded to Youtube, i think of DSP and realize that I'm not doing all that bad. I don't think he can claim he's the king of hate if he can't take any. Someone should take than title from him just to see what his reaction would be.
