This is that "No regenerating health, no free to play" game, right? yeah it looks pretty promising and very fun, but i stopped getting hyped for games about two years ago.
While this looks amazing..the creators don't even seem to be trying to hide the fact its Unreal tournament I mean the weapons are the same ..the vehicles are the same..even the vehicle models look like slightly modified versions ..the style is the same but i will let that slide. Micro health's and even some maps looked a little similar This game will rock ..but face it..it's a renamed remodeled slightly updated UT And UT kicks some major ass
The first video looked like Halo. This looks like UT. Meh.
blunreal blournament
They should work A LOT on the animations. No excuse to have this in 2014, with animations that look like theyre straight ripped from UT2k4. Also: No dodgejump :(
Looks neat but I still really hate their marketing campaign of "GUYS LOOK WE DON'T HAVE THE STUFF ALL THOSE SHITTY OTHER FPS HAVE" without actually talking about any of the good stuff it does have.
This seems a lot like UT2004, especially with the hovercraft, air vehicle and the AVRIL.
The maps doesn't seem fun to play on for this type of shooter. imo
This looks real nice but I doubt it gonna hold up against UT4.
Those kinda of maps don't really work for arena shooters lol. And this may be a bit early to say, but the weapons really don't look that satisfying to shoot.
I really don't think we need more shooters built around "not CoD" as their underlying appeal Because if that's what it has going for it, I'm doubtful how much staying power the game will have in the long run
Yup, it looks like they're trying really hard to copy the UT2004 formula, I just wonder whether they'll be able to make it as fun to play as UT was. I mean it's great that they can claim there's no iron sights, no unlocks, no regenerating health and so on, but it's kinda sad that that's all they have to advertise the game with. It's as if they have nothing in their game that would differentiate it from other arena shooters. I can already see this game flopping hard when it's released, especially with UT4 coming up and being free to play.
I've never played FPS games much back in the 90's and early 2000's glory days do I don't really see the appeal. I suspect once the effect of "old skool shooter" wears off the people that will be playing it are the quake live crowd. And I was around then, but gaming computers costed an arm and a leg and I was stuck with the PS1/PS2 and good FPS games on the console were really rare then :v:
I never understood people saying "hey we are going back to X". If i wanted to play an arena shooter i would play UT/quake since both are still alive and thriving. At least make it interesting like Strike Vector or something.

Bringing a new game to the table is hardly a bad thing either - I'd be very surprised if this was an exact clone and reskin of those games. I'd also wager that people who have never played arena shooters before will be more enticed to buy a newer product rather than an old one, so hopefully Toxikk will have a large customer base at launch, with a decent retention.
game looks like it's just going to be another nexuiz situation, alongside a rise of the triad marketing campaign. count me out.
