Hey Guys, I had some doubts about whether or not to post this here, but I figured I might as well get some constructive criticism from you guys, so I can improve. After all, that's the only way a person can get better. I've started a somewhat small Let's Play series. I plan in the future to add Product and Game Reviews, but for now it's best to start small. I would love feedback on how to improve and what you would like to see out of it. I would invest in a better mic if you plan on continuing. Also, I would go offline on your Steam friends list when you record so people's names won't appear in your videos. That's all I can think of, other than that you seem like you just need more practice and then you should be good! [editline]poop[/editline] Is it normal for Let's Plays to have long'ish gaps between talking? I don't like LPs very much so I don't know if that's common.
When I read the title I thought you were talking about the Mio energy thing.
What type of mic would you suggest? I'm just looking for something cheap but good quality sound and build wise
What type of mic would you suggest? I'm just looking for something cheap but good quality sound and build wise
Very cheap but pretty good (will pick up most noises in the room, so you'd need a quite enviroment): http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ More expensive but great (Blue makes a variety of USB mics, this one and the platinum version are very popular for lower budget podcasting/streamers. The Snowball is another decent option which is cheaper): http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Yeti-USB-Microphone/dp/B002VA464S/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1367960284&sr=1-2&keywords=blue+yeti
I personally started using the Samson Meteor as of late: http://www.amazon.com/Samson-Meteor-Studio-Microphone-Cardioid/dp/B004MF39YS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367960941&sr=8-1&keywords=samson+meteor It's a very good microphone however the noise cancellation is pretty bad so just make sure you don't have fans and what not running when you plan to record.
Released a new video showcasing the winner of the 2012 Indie Speed Run, using the new mic I got in the mail today.
You'll probably get better at the commentary with time, practice, and lots of failure. Don't get discouraged if you aren't well received at first, and likewise don't expect to be very popular until you start really getting the hang of it.
