Thought this was worth posting without a youtube video.
Jim has some VERY VERY Good points.

My favorite part about Jim is that he shits on the journalists that protect the big companies, and the shitty gamers that shit on other gamers.

/v/ sure must hate him :v:
I never really watched Jim much until he appeared on the Polaris podcast. The guy's awesome.

/v/ is like /pol/
never once should you tread grounds there
I thought this was a very good point for him to talk about, obviously this sort etiquette isn't on a massive sign for everyone to memorize and get into their head and we all sometimes just get carried away where occasionally just get stubborn and don't want to looks silly in an argument and the hardest thing to do sometimes is to swallow your pride and admit your wrong but it's much better than wasting your time getting hot headed about it.

4Chan is the world's best prison for those that commit the crime of being so stupid or crazy that you are a public menace.
I was a bit put off at first by his smugness at first I must admit, but I have watched a far few of his videos and I find I can generally agree with a lot of the points he makes.

fun fact moot (4chan creator) at the 2013 convention event he did said that 4chan was like arkham asylum and he always wonders about what would happen if he shut it off.

All of the boards that violently hate each other will all kill each other.
Jim comes off a bit pompous, but I suppose the only people that makes a difference to are those who already hate him and lack the composure to actually listen and evaluate what he says.
The issue of people complaining about shit just because they don't like it isn't entitlement and it sure isn't a new issue since these successful complains against actual failures. It's not entitlement thinking you can try and remove things you don't like, people just like complaining and hurling abuse. I'm sure people more enjoyed watching the massive failures of Simcity rather than thinking they were entitled to Simcity being good.
If you follow jim for more than just Jimquisition it's evident that it's an act for the show.
Don't know how many times we have to repeat that.

I figured as much, but it's still a style choice that has it's downsides. If you don't like him, then it just makes him seem incredibly obnoxious and most people wouldn't listen to a thing after that.
If he thinks it gives the show a bit more style and drive, sure, not like he has to appeal to everyone.

I agree. Jim IRL has his own nice flare to him, but I think it would feel a bit too plain if it were a show and frankly, it makes the show feel more unique compared to other video game/industry style commentary series out there. He's not cynical really like TB, he doesn't speak crazy fast with insane metaphors like yahtzee, he developed his own niche I guess.
Yea it has it's downsides, but in the end it helps develop a strong following for those that see him as just separate.
